Stay dry without the bulk

The logic is simple -- riding trails in wet weather warrants waterproof protection. Sure, you could wear full-length, waterproof pants, but in more temperate climates, pants are simply too intense. We always recommend using the right tool for the job, and in spring/fall showers, the Gore Bike Wear ALP-X 2.0 GT AS 3/4 Length Pants offer the ideal level of protection.

Constructed from the patented, lightweight, and 100% waterproof Gore-Tex Active Shell fabric, the ALP-X 2.0 pants will deflect the train while you hammer out the miles. Just as importantly, the outer layer seals out moisture while still being highly breathable. As a result, the inner membrane transfers moisture to the outside layer during intense aerobic exercise. So, you can mash hard on the pedals without the worry of becoming soaked from the inside out.

And though the pants' material is important part, Gore didn't sacrifice fit for fabrics. Made with a 20 inch inseam, the wide elastic waistband uses a cord closure to dial in the fit that you need. And to keep water and mud from sneaking in, Gore included a high-cut back panel and pre-shaped knees with a Velcro adjustment. Premature wear in the seat of your pants will shorten the life span. So, to combat this, a wear-resistant seat reinforcement has been added to ensure that you have a long relationship with the ALP-X 2.0.

A single zippered stow pocket on the back of the pants holds your keys and small ride essentials. And to heighten your visibility in low-light conditions, Gore added reflective accents throughout the pants.

The Gore Bike Wear ALP-X 2.0 GT AS 3/4 Length Pants are available in the color Black and in five sizes from Small to XX-Large.

I use these for wet weather bike commuting in Seattle. I've had full-leg Goretex paclite pant that I've used and never really liked due to the condensation build up in side. The Active Shell is super lite, but seems durable so far. I don't know it would survive a slide across asphalt and road grit, but not much will. I like the knicker length of these, it vents much better. Personally, I only need protection on the tops of my legs. My calfs will get we, but never cold. Great protection from the rain, as with all Gore-tex, but it's light and breathable enough to stay cool when the sun does pop out. They pack down to nothing. I will buy them again if I ever need to.
