Summer mountain bike rides are often tougher than a basic jersey. All-day outings on the trail require the use of a backpack, which frequently abrades jersey fabric, shortening the life span of what was once your favorite cycling piece. The Gore Bike Wear Women's Alp-X 2.0 Short-Sleeve Jersey , part of Gore's newest line of mountain bike performance wear for women, is built to last, in addition to being packable, durable, and versatile. The line has common ventilation features throughout so it will perform as well when used with matching pieces as it does individually.

The Women's Alp-X 2.0 Jersey is a true off-road piece. The breathable, stretchy, fast-drying microfiber fabric has excellent thermoregulation qualities and is lightweight to boot. Mesh inserts are sewn on the sleeves, underarm, and paneling on the front of the jersey to allow for maximum ventilation. Mesh down the center of the back adds a cooling feature so you aren't doubling up when you're wearing a pack. For additional ventilation, a full length zipper with a semi-locking slider gives you the ability to unzip the jersey to exactly where you want it without the worry of your zipper coming undone. The zipper's underflap runs the entire length of the zipper, protecting your undergarments and shorts from abrasion by the zipper.

Silicone prints on the shoulder makes the area where pack straps lay abrasion resistant so your jersey lasts longer, and keeps the straps from slipping as well. The Alp-X 2.0 jersey is sewn into a slim fit with contrasting flat-lock seams that eliminate chafing where seams commonly rub. Ample storage pockets on the back of the jersey make it easy to go packless when the occasion calls for it. Two compartment pockets and a pump pocket on the rear offer organized places for ride nutrition, spare tubes, and your hand pump. Two mesh side pockets add easy access to your camera or bars. Partially elastic gripper on the hem keeps the jersey in place.

The Gore Bike Wear Women's Alp-X 2.0 Short-Sleeve Jersey comes in Citrus Green, Pool Blue, Thai Pink, Earth/black, and Black. It is available in sizes from X-Small to XX-Large.

  • Lightweight fabric wicks and dries quickly
  • Full-length zip and mesh inserts offer cooling ventilation
  • Multiple pockets, including two patch pockets, a hand pump pocket on back, and two side mesh pockets, give you an impressive amount of storage space
  • Gripper elastic on the back hem helps keep the jersey in place as you hop over logs and bounce down rocky trails
  • Reflective logos and piping help you stay visible even as day fades into night

Here's what others have to say...

Very nice well made jersey.

This is very nice and comfortable. This jersey is almost mesh everywhere,so perfect for sweaty summer cycling.

The back has a pocket in the center and very practical design.

I really liked the way it's made.

I highly recommend it if you like the color.

While it's way too cold here at the time of this posting (it's still snowing in my area!); I can say this thing has to be comfortable for HOT summers...the whole thing seems to be made of "netting"! Sure wish I had this for past summer seasons rides. It's so thin, I wonder how durable it will be...will keep posted if any problems arise. A note on fit: seems to run true-to-size, I order a XXL for a 40" chest size in tops and there is plenty of room, wonder if a size down would have been better, but the color/size/price was right in-line, so no big deal. Have also got the new ALP-

X 3.0 from Gore (red), and the only difference I can see is the design of abrasion patches on the shoulders. So at half price, stock up!

UP-DATE: Used on a long, hot ride and this shirt was wonderfully "cool"; especially love the mesh venting allowing a "cool" breeze at arm pits, and back (even wearing a full pack). One word on durability: the mesh back panel already snagged from the pack; the price you pay for a little breeze, I guess. Comfortable shirt for everyday rides and everyday bods, too!
