I love these socks, I have 2 pairs of the 2009 version and 4 pair of this newer version. They are great for anything I've used them for: hiking in chilly or sweltering weather, working, long days sight seeing in Florida heat. Very comfy and plenty of cushion. Like Smushie previously noted, they are great for odor control and temperature regulation.

Last month I wore these on a 135 mile one-day bike ride from Telluride, CO in the San Juan mountains to the deserts of Southwestern Colorado and Utah. It was in the 30's when we rolled out of Telluride at 8am and over 80 degrees for several hours in the mid-day sun before getting to the finish line. My toes never froze in the morning and didn't feel hot as I pedaled through the desert in the afternoon. After the ride, I took a shower and changed into some clean clothes; however, my socks were still fresh enough to wear home. I have two pairs and never leave for a long day of biking (or hiking) without them.
