GoLite uses its unique Isomorphic suspension system to give the Men's Spike Tail 2 Trail Running Shoe a feel so comfortable that you'll think everything seems flat and rock-free. The PU midsole cushions your strides while a stabilizing heel cradle increases support for really rough ground. GoLite also added a scree collar to keep dirt and rocks out of the Spike Tail 2 Trail Running Shoe, and an antimicrobial footbed reduces post-run mank.
Bottom Line: Any more comfortable, and they'd be bedroom slippers.

Great trackion in loose dirt

As evidenced by the picture, these things have a seriously aggressive tread pattern and make easy work of scrambling up loose terrain. The neoprene (or similar material) liners don't work quite as well as I would have liked in keeping dirt and small rocks out of the shoes but what can you expect for a pair of light-weight trail running shoe. Note that the shoe seems to run a little narrow -- I needed to unlace the fore foot area to accommodate my rather average width foot and I don't know that they'll stretch out given the exterior reinforcements.

After a few weeks of running and working in these shoes, I don't have anything but praise for them. If you have wide feet these shoes are for you.

I'm wondering about the lower mesh panels on this shoe. Is it the same mesh as the uppers or is it reinforced. I'm concerned about bruises and foot protection against larger rocks and branches in this area of the shoe. Thanks so much!

I got an early pair of these shoes and really loved the fit, grip, and features of the shoes. Unfortunately, because of a manufacture defect, they split across the toe box after about 50 miles of use. I contacted GoLite, they acknowledged the problem, and replaced them with a new pair (without the defect). Love the shoes and great customer service by GoLite.

I´ve caused a great impression with my next pair of Golite, everybody loved them. They are very comfortable, have great ventilation my sweaty feet love them.

i wear nothing but golite but these gave me quarter sized heel blisters in less than 2 hours
