I'm not sure of the exact height specifications but to put it in human terms, it makes changing a lot easier. If you're the person sleeping near the pole, you can sit up without any fear of touching your head on the shelter. I'm 5'5"ish and could easily swap pants and change in a weird sort-of-bent-over standing position.

I would say so - you can't find many shelters like this that are as roomy and easy to put up. At 2 pounds 5 ounces, it's tough to beat on the lightweight scheme of things.
