You guys are saying this is the new model, but it clearly is the old model based on the dates of the posts asking the questions. I am confused.
I have a 2010 shangri-la 2. Will this nest fit my shelter?

The GoLite Shangri-La 2-person shelter is compatible with the nest as a fly- (item # GOL 0431)

But bear in mind- with the combined weight, you've essentially just described a slightly larger Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2.

My favorite thing about this tent is that it is LONG.
I'm 6-2, not super tall, but tall enough so that I know what's it's like to hit your feet or your head on the tent walls. That is not an issue with this tent. It's the full 9.5 feet long. A huge plus in my opinion.

So far I've only used it by hanging it from a line strung between a tree and a treking pole. I have not used two poles inside option to stand it up.
It's light weight, very easy to pack/unpack. Stakes down and stands up nice and tall (while hung from above) without any issues. I used a tyvek 10x14 foot tarp to keep it dry. Plenty of room for me an my girlfriend.
I also used a tyvek sheet underneath as ground cover, but I doubt the floor really needs it.
Anyway , no complaints at all. It keeps the little black flys out just perfectly and there is lots of room to spare.

The floor is waterproof. It's a 3000mm nylon, which is a solid water proof rating for a tent floor. The higher the mm the better

there is a floor that you can buy, but you don't really need it. Ive used the nest with the rainfly and it was worked great, rain or shine. It tends to absorb moisture after a while, but nothing that will make it wet on the inside.
The floor might be nice if you were in a place without mosquitoes and didnt want your sleeping pad in the dirt. But I'd bet money on my itchless skin, that I woldn't ever skip the nest.
