If the GoLite Women's Reed Pants' fully seam-taped, waterproof breathable shells don't get your attention, maybe the five-ounce weight will do the job. That's right, these completely waterproof pants weigh less than, well, just about anything in your pack. GoLite made the Reed Pants with zero features other than nine-inch ankle zippers. Why? Features add weight, and you don't want weight. Backpackers everywhere asked for waterproof pants that would never get left behind, and GoLite delivered.

They don't get any more lightweight than this. Fit is true and they work over pants or leggings without adding bulk. Very waterproof, too. Not so breathable but I haven't needed them on a warmer day yet so I can't speak to their comfort in that situation.

Extremely lightweight and water resistant... these are main 2 reasons I bought them. These pants were a great addition to my hiking gear.
