Pull the six-ounce waterproof GoLite Reed Rain Pants from your pack to keep your legs dry when storm clouds threaten your hiking trip.

GoLite stripped the waterproof breathable Men's Reed Rain Pants to a scant six ounces to ensure you can always spare the weight for a little extra weather protection. You have no excuse to leave these fully seam-taped pants behind whether you head out for a day hike or week of backpacking. Ten-inch ankle zippers help these GoLite pants fit well with both hiking boots and trail running shoes.

You should get a size small, at least for your waist, you may be cutting it close as far as your 32" outseam goes. As long as you don't high ride them, I'd say you'd be alright.

The pants are so light I can always take them. They are perfect for the many times when you don't need to wear them but want them along. They worked great on four rainy days in southern Ohio.

I have a 34 in. waist. Do I need a medium or a large rain pant?

You could get away with a M, but a L would give you some room to move in.

These are great. They pack down really small, keep me dry, and are a nice material. They aren't plasticy, but rather feel smooth and soft to the touch. There is a zipper on the bottom which allows you to put them on over shoes, although they don't fit too well over the boots I hike in. My only other complaint would be no pockets. Otherwise, these are great!

They fit reasonably well for rain pants and the material does not feel like a garbage bag, for the weight this is surprising. The material is qute silky. I really put them to the test kyacking in the rain (no water skirt on the kyack). Despite sitting in a puddle for an hour i was dry as a bone. My only complaint is that the ankle zipper does not stay all the way down. It could use a snap, but that would add weight!

GoLite Reed Pant has kept me dry on numerous Montana outings, but proved totally ineffective when we got slammed by an all day storm on the Olympic Peninsula Coast. I suggest that the Pacific NW requires heavier, more waterproof gear overall.

the legs are simply too narrrow, the ankle zipper too short to allow these pants to slip over a normal size hiking boot

I wore them on a 14er as backup to my power stretch tights with undies. Predawn winds were blowing along the ridge and summit but didnt feel it.
Probably they are waterproof. Seemed pretty durable, but still wanted to be careful how and where I sat, etc. No damage, stayed clean OK. Ultra-packable!
The zippers are useless for me because my big boots (Salomon SM Lites) can't fit thru the trim-cut legs. But at least they werent swooshing badly while I walked. Good looking, in the generic uberican cut Golite has.
The material felt on the less breathable side, there's no fly or other vent. When overheating, rolling up the legs helped a little, even rolled down the waistband as far as it would go without binding leg movement.
