Though it weights only 3lb 4oz, the GoLite Perspective Backpack gives you 3950cu in of space to load up your climbing gear, and a supportive Ergo-Flex frame to help carry it. By utilizing a corrugated frame sheet and ultralight aluminum dowels, the Ergo-Flex frame comfortably carries three-days worth of alpine climbing gear while offering a low weight of only 3lb 4oz and flexibility of a frameless pack. A breathable spacer mesh back panel keeps you cool when the sun is beating down on your spring mountaineering trip, and two front pockets make your gear easily accessible. Mountains are big. Cut weight with the GoLite Perspective Backpack to get up them easier.

Bottom Line: Take a look at ultralight, supportive climbing packs from a whole new Perspective.

The Trifecta

Good capacity + reasonable load-bearing ability + very light weight, it's the trifecta. Some people think this pack accommodates more gear than it can comfortably carry, making it impractical (or downright fallacious) but I haven't found that to be the case. The suspension was surprisingly sturdy; the hip belt doesn't look like much but it's well-made and bears up good under 30+ lbs. It's the perfect short-trip and/or summer trip pack; when you don't need to carry heavier, bulky shoulder-season necessities like sturdier tent, more clothing, heavier sleeping bag, etc., you can haul a surprising amount of stuff a long way in comfort with this pack.

Go Lite Perspective Backpack

Used the pack on an Appalachian Trail Hike. It was comfortable and roomy, and I would recommend it with two reservations: (1) It would be better with straps on the bottom to tie a sleeping bag rather than having to take up room inside and (2)it is almost impossible to reach the water bottles in the side pockets without stopping and taking off the pack. However, the pack itself was very lightweight - a big plus for long hikes.
