The GoLite Galaxy Pack lets you wander the universe without the stifling influence of gravity. The Ergo-Flex Suspension system combines incredible moisture wicking properties with a closed cell foam back panel that's specifically designed to conform to skeletal-musculature of your back. In addition, an EX shoulder harness and internal frame sheet keep the load stable while the Ergo-Flex hipbelt moves with you. As you traipse through new territory, stay hydrated when you add a reservoir to the 3-liter hydration sleeve and the watertight zippers will keep moisture from invading your gear's space. Should you encounter the frozen tundra of Pluto, dual ice axe loops will carry the tools you'll need to navigate the landscape.

Bottom Line: The Galaxy is yours, go explore.

Outstanding Pack!

It's light, but not too light. It carries everything I need for a multi-day backpacking trip, and carries it very comfortably. Excellent quality workmanship.

I was also very impressed with this site’s service. I ordered this pack with the "free economy shipping", which said that the pack would take up to 7-14 days to arrive. I got it in two days.

Golite Galaxy

I do a fair bit of long distance ultralight backpacking, and have used a Golite Trek pack for a couple seasons due to weight considerations. The weight difference between the Golite and my frame packs is enough to carry 3-4 days more food and stay out longer. Problem was, the Trek just didn't provide enough support, and I got sore from it after a few days. The Galaxy provides the best of both - it has a stiff frame that works great, and still is really light. I used it last week to for a canyon hike in Utah and it performed admirably. I intend to use it this summer when I hike the Colorado Trail end to end again. I can go out for 4-5 days with this pack and keep the total weight down around 30lb including a liter of water and filter. (I carry about 1lb of food per day) It's not as big as some frame packs, but the tent attaches outside and that leaves room for more inside. Plus, the smaller size forces you to pack intelligently and saves weight accordingly. If you like the ultralight mode, this is the best choice out there.
