I'm very seriously considering purchasing this bag, any suggestions

I'm very seriously considering purchasing this bag, any suggestions on a good compression sack that I should get with it. Would I be fine with a really light weight water resistant sack? I like the granite gear air compressor compression sack, anyone think this would be a bad choice?

Thanks for the responses. Granite Gear has a fairly new dry compression sack called the "AirVent Drybloc Solid". It competes with the StS eVent bag, but at a lower cost and a lighter weight. It seems like a perfect fit. I will try to give a report on it's durability and wet weather performance after more usage to see if it truly holds up to the StS eVent. (Pictures coming)

Hey Kevin,

If you want a good waterproof compression sack, I like the Sea To Summit eVent. If you're just looking for mainly the ability to compress your bag, my favorite is the Granite Gear Rock Solid. I'm not personally familiar with the Air Compressor, but I've never had any problems or complaints with anything from Granite Gear, although for a sleeping bag, I don't think it's blocked shape would be necessary for packing purposes. If you do go with, and really need, any type of waterproof sack, I would suggest that you size up in order to make rolling the top over a few times to seal it properly a bit easier. For example: I would choose a medium for this one.

Fantastic bag

Over the years I have tried many different quality bags, with several in the $250.00 plus range. In the past 18 months, I have had this in snow in Colorado, bitter cold wind in January in Arizona, and all over the backcountry of Idaho. The lightest, most comfortable, top qiuality bag I have ever used, thank you Go Lite, you rock.

I've noticed that the 2008 version of this same sleeping bag is 6oz lighter than this model. Does anyone know what caused this weight difference? Different dimensions, more durable fabric, more fill??

The best guesstimation is a wider shape, but that is not certain.

Amazing!

Like some others, I purchased this bag due to the fact it was backpacker magazine bag of the year in 2008.

I could not be more happier with my selection. Very soft and warm and no down leakage. Also I love the more durable material around the feet to prevent your bag from getting wet form condensation.

The top zip is great for reading when the weather may not be cooperating.

Worth every penny and would recommend to anyone considering a down bag.
