    Light up the night.

Stash the Goal Zero Torch 250 in your home emergency kit, keep it in your car, or bring it along on all your camping trips. This versatile lantern serves as a floodlight and flashlight as well as a portable power source.

LED lights with Floodlight and Flashlight settings illuminate your campsite or help you find the candles when the power goes out, and a built-in USB port allows you to charge your phone or other small electronics. There are also multiple ways to recharge the Torch 250. Plug it into the wall through the USB input, power it up with a 12V battery, or use your Goal Zero solar panel. It even has a hand crank for when you're in a pinch. One minute of cranking equals about two minutes of light, allowing you to get light almost instantly when you really need it. Whether you're on a weekend camping trip or caught in a natural disaster, stay prepared with the Torch 250.

    Love it

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The definition of useful, it's not only for camping you can have it in the rear window of your car and let it charged by itself and it'll be ready for that moment when you are searching for something or an emergency; the light is pretty strong and the battery last forever

    Great for yurt trips

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had my torch for about a year or so and have taken it on several backpacking and hut trips. I mainly use it for charging my phone while away from power and can usually get at least 2 full charges, as well as a few other miscellaneous charges (garmin/camera/portable bluetooth speaker). Its a bit bulky for camping trips, but it usually finds its way into my pack. I love it for yurt trips. The dome light is a great working light for cooking and stoking the fire late at night. I have not tried to charge the device using the solar panel, or the crank...not sure how long this would take, but its nice to know that I have the option in a pinch. It is also capable of taking a beating. I have not babied it and typically shove it into packs and bins that get thrown around and the torch doesn't seem to be scratched or damaged at all. I was worried about the fragility of the charging panel, but I do not anymore. The only con is that you cannot lockout the flashlight and dome light on/off buttons. So when I stuff it in my pack, there is the possibility of turning it on and wasting the battery...which has happened several times. Other than that I highly recommend.

This is one of those devices that once you buy it, you keep finding more reasons previously unknown you'd use it for.

This Item is now a must have in my camping gear. With the ability to grab it knowing it'll be able to charge my phone, give me light via the lantern or flashlight function, I love this thing.

I've found myself using it around the house for a variety of things all the while never worrying once about batteries, so that's super rad. all in all, design, function, and worth I give it 5 of 5 stars as I have yet to find a fault in it.

note* as far as emergency prep goes, you need to be using or charge it every 3 months, so it's not a stash it away for the Apocalypse deal.
