Whether your next adventure takes you to the middle of the Pacific Ocean or to the frigid, -40F temps of the arctic, the ultra-portable Goal Zero Sherpa 50 Adventure Kit will keep your essential handheld electronic gear charged and ready to perform. This complete power kit comes with a Sherpa 50 battery pack, a Nomad 13.5M solar array, an AC wall charger, and a 12V output female cigarette adapter.

  • The Sherpa 50 battery pack only weighs 2.2 pounds but stores 50 watt-hours of power—its rugged design means you can take it anywhere, and its built-in USB and DC outlets give you a variety of connection options
  • Battery pack’s LCD screen shows remaining power, and its compatibility feature allows you to chain up to three additional Sherpa power packs for increased output
  • The Sherpa charges in just two hours with the DC adaptor or in eight hours with the Nomad 13.5M solar array
  • Nomad 13.5M mono-crystalline solar array withstands harsh weather conditions and environments, folds into a portable pouch, and, at 13.5 Watts of output, delivers more power per square inch than any other portable solar alternative
  • Solar panel’s stainless steel grommets mount easily to a pack, tent, trailer, or boat
  • 12V output female cigarette adapter allows you to siphon power from the Sherpa to your electronic equipment using the equipment’s standard car charger
  • A fully charged Sherpa pack powers the typical cell phone for 54 hours—other average run-times include: three-watt LED light (16 hours), handheld GPS unit (27 hours), handheld weather radio (100 hours), avalanche RX (16 hours), GoPro camera (30 hours), music player (193 hours)

Bottom Line: Stay found. Stay safe. Stay connected.

Does the kit come with the cord that charges the battery from the solar panel? I know this sounds odd, but the tech rep from Goal Zero actually told me that the cable is sold separately.

I am assuming you are bring a laptop with you, how long would it give you on a charge?

The best way to figure this out would be to look at the spec sheet for the solar panel, and compare it to the spec sheet for your laptop.
But for a quick equation to say for an approx reference it is stated in the description that a 3 Watt Led light can get up to 16 hours on a charge. So the question is what is the power requirement of your laptop? In general a Laptop requires about 150 Watts. That would give you about 20 minutes on your lap top.
This is not very accurate, as all laptops have different power requirements, and there a many factors that play into how much power your laptop requires at any given moment.

Awesome Kit

I've used this backpacking, camping and night ice climbing(the battery portion). Really great products. They work well and are pretty light. I can hook up 3 of the Goal Zero lights to this one batter and I've never run out of juice during my 3 hours of night ice climbing that I often do. The solar collector works well, even in overcast conditions.
