They Keep The Lights On
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
No complaints here. I mean, you just them and you recharge them. We have them in some lights that don't get used but a few minutes a day and they last a few months between recharges.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I bought a 2nd set of GoalZero batteries for back-up for week-long remote canoe camping in case of inclement weather in which the solar panel couldn't collect enough sunlight for a couple of days. I use it with my Goal10 charger and Nomad solar panel. I've used my 1st set of batteries for 2 summers - they are AWESOME. They hold a charge better than other brands, and recharge quickly. I highly recommend leaving home with all batteries fully charged via A/C or USB.
Normal rechargable batteries
not much to say, they can recharge. like every recharable battery, they don't get as much power or hold a charge as long as non rechargable batteries. no better than say energizer, but no worse either.
These last a long time; they're not like your old school rechargeables that die in an hour. I use it with the Guide 10 and carry it in my bag just to charge my iPhone if I need it. I haven't tried Eneloops but I've heard that these last about the same times.
These worked well for me to keep my iPhone going all day (literally) in GPS mode.
They last a decent amount of time with a full charge, can last a full day in my GPS and quite a while longer in my head lamps. I got 2 sets of the AA and 2 sets of the AAA and it seems to suit me well for all of my battery needs in the back country.
The Guide 10 is awesom, buy these and make it a Guide 20
The batteries are great. I haven't used them in any other system than the Goal Zero Guide 10, which I take everywhere with me. Extra batteries are a great way to turn the Guide 10 into an extra unit at a low price.
Can you use any rechargeable batteries...
Can you use any rechargeable batteries with the Guide 10 or do you need to use these?
Goal Zero's battery chargers are compatible with Eneloops as well.
I bought the black diamond AAA's off of backcountry and they work fine.
any NiMH rechargable battery
