Street Series BTX Snowboard

The GNU Street Series BTX Snowboard’s jib-friendly flex and Banana Tech rocker shape help you press boxes harder than Ron Jeremy, and ride away from sketchy situations without catching an edge—or the clap. Magne-Traction serrated edges keep you in control if you decide to venture out of the park, and the sintered base means you’ll carry enough speed to gap-front-board the big down-flat-down rail in the park.

Bottom Line: Rail rats rejoice!

It will give you super powers

Holy Crap! I thought the Pickle was the best board until I rode the Street Series. If you love park and pow this board is for you! My second time on this board I began landing 3's and 5's and hitting much harder rails that you had to ollie up to hit, which seemed more intimidating before. With this board you think about spinning and pressing and it just does it. I haven't taken it out on the pow yet but I'm sure the rocker will hold up as well as the Pickle did. I went down from a 156 to the 149! I'm 5"9 and 160 lbs. I'll be honest you will only run into 2 issues - not so stable at high speeds and for big jumps you have to land pretty centered or the board will wash out on it's tail being that it's super soft to make you super human for butters.

I have been skiing for 15 years, I am a great skier, this season

I have been skiing for 15 years, I am a great skier, this season I decided to start snowboarding, it was very hard at the begining, I took lessons and at the end of the seasons I was doing ok, blues with no problem and I started doing some blacks, I live in Atlanta, however this winter I went 4 times to Breckenridge, I am 51 years old. Do you believe that I should buy the the GNU Street Series to became a better boarder?

Buying a new board won't make you a better boarder. Practice will.

Wanna press a box to angles previously unknown? How about buttering a nollie on a tractor tire the size of a minatour? Perhaps even a button that boosts speed to prevent the punishing pain of landing on a knuckle? Well this board has two out of the three I just mentioned, and while it doesnt have the easy button that the office chains do, the sintered (the extruded bases younger and tougher brother) base does give you an edge in speed over the average park and freestyle board. Speaking of edge, add the legendary mongoos-claw-like Magna-Traction (instead of an even elliptical sidecut, it looks kinda like a wiggle worm) to the recipe and one is likely to have no excuse when it comes to snow conditions.
This particular model is uber flexy, and can be detuned a ridiculous amount to eliminate to embarrasing hangups that come from the edge to rail match-up. Did I mention it is a reverse camber board. That translates to less edge catching, and float that could make rootbeer jealous in the powder.
As it is not a perfect world that we live in, there must be a drawback or two to this stick. The biggest and most prevelent that you're likely to run into is the lack of pop due to its lack of camber. There is also a little instability when hitting those larger booters, 50' and up. This is because of the super soft flex. The fellas and skirts over at Gnu thought about this however and made the waist of this board a lil bit bigger to compensate.
Overall, like all mervin boards I have ridden, I say hurrah to the board. Perfect board that can take you anywhere in the park, hell, anywhere on the mountain for that matter. I ride this and a lib-tech and I havent been able to ask anything of this board that it wasn't willing to try from Hidden Valley to The Canyons.

I ride a Street series and love it. I am 5'11" and weigh 170 lbs. with a size 10.5 boot. I rock the 154! At my size don't think I would go any smaller then the 154. I like it because I can butter the the thing like no other. Super soft feel and being more of a freestyle board I can down size letting me throw it around. I have even had a lot of powder days on it and and with the BTX technology you can do that too. Awesome deck!!!
