The guys at Gateway Parks believe that you shouldn't have to fly to an exotic ski resort and pay triple-digit lift ticket prices just to enjoy snowboarding. That's why they've been working with communities to make accessible and affordable terrain parks in urban areas since 2007. This year Gnu has teamed up with them to create the Gateway Snowboard. Your purchase of this park-slaying freestyle deck gets you a free Weekday Warrior pass at any Gateway resort and a portion of the proceeds goes directly to Gateway to help them build future parks.

Featuring a mellow version of Banana Technology, the Gateway has rocker is the middle with just slightly cambered sections extending from the bindings towards the tip and tail for a stable, yet playful feel. Magne-Traction provides edge hold on icy slopes so you can still tear it up in the park while other kids are sliding out on their butts left and right, and Power Transfer internal sidewalls give you greater heel-to-toe response for hard, fast carves that other park boards only dream of.

The aspen and polonia core is made from fast-growing, renewable trees so you're not contributing to the destruction of the rainforest, and its light and lively fibers provide pop and durability. A combination of triax and biax fiberglass gives it a responsive feel without sacrificing torsional flex. Finally, the sintered base resists damage in the park and retains wax well to keep you moving through flat spots.
