    Four-season trooper.

The Giro Wind Vest is your all-season go-to for immediate deployment to respond to changing weather conditions. Sometimes, winter just requires a warm sweater; however, once the wind picks up and the precipitation comes down, things can go south quickly. Even in spring or fall a long descent can leave you with a chill for the rest of the ride, and summer rain is no fun when you're soaked on the bike.

The Wind Vest's wind and water resistances mean that it's useful for inclement conditions year-round. It's also moisture wicking and has mesh vents in the back, so it won't turn you into a moving sauna during summer showers or impede the breathability of your insulating layers in winter. When the danger has passed, the Wind Vest compacts down enough to fit into a pocket or saddle bag, ready to deploy at the next sign of inclement conditions. It's also got reflective piping to help keep you visible when the clouds do roll back over the sun.

    Good Gear, Strange Sizing...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium

First, I'll say that this does NOT run true to any style of fitting I've ever been remotely familiar with. I'm 5'10" and have a slim, racer-type build. I ordered a medium and it's wide on the sides, but the small would have been either perfect, or too small around the shoulder area. I can only assume this vest was made with the Average-Joe in mind.

BUT! The material is fantastic, the entire piece is well constructed, and ultralightweight and capable of being folded up and put away. If you run into water problems, the vest will remain completely dry. I only have positive things to say about the vest. Considering the price(I purchased at %80 off), I'd buy it again.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

First time bought a vest and I like it. Light weight, windproof, and rain resistant w/ a nice lining. Folded nicely for the back pocket.

SIZE WAY DOWN! Not Compactable at all!

    • Fit: Runs large

This product runs very Large. I normally wear Larges/XL's and the XL was tent like and the Large is way too big. I have been finding lots of problems with all of Giro's gear in terms of sizing and it causing a lot of return headaches. Ordered their Giro Empire shoes and those were way too small for the size! Can't make this stuff up!

Size M is more like an XXXXXL...
