Good looks and brains.

Giro's Section Helmet combines the California manufacturer's 20-plus years of head-saving expertise with skate-inspired design elements. Though it doesn't have the pomp of Giro's race-level helmets, the Section does benefit from the added strength and durability of the same In-Mold construction. This bonds the EPS foam body to the polycarbonate shell for increased strength. The result is an unassuming, timeless bit of safety equipment that can fly under the radar for urban cruising.

Barring the Air Attack, the Section's vent count may be the lowest in Giro's line; however, the tradeoff is a much lower weight. Fewer gaps equates to fewer structural weaknesses, so Giro was able to use less material without losing any of the impact absorption in its more ventilated helmets. Less material also means less bulk, eliminating the mushroom head look of many other commuter helmets. It may not be suitable for all-day hammerfests, but the section's styling and safety make it ideal for jeans and jacket cycling.
