Excited to ride!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased these shoes as my first cycling shoes so I'm very excited to ride with them! I ordered a 40.5 after reading what other people had to say. I wear an 8.5 in New Balance minimus shoes but I also have a little bit of a wider foot. For length, the shoes fits great but they are a little snug in the forefoot area (but again, I have a wide foot). I'm going to stick with the 40.5 since I prefer my foot wear a little snug anyway. The black color looks awesome too!

A little note about sizing...

After consulting the size chart provided on the site, I ordered a 40.5 being that I typically wear 8-8.5 (39 eu size, and a 39-40 in most cycling shoes), but they were too small. I reordered a 41, which should fit as the 40.5 were just a tad too short and tight. They are a really nice looking shoe, and lightweight compared to many others I have used. I cannot wait to receive the new pair and put these to good use!

Hello, I was considering to get these. My shoe size is exactly the same as yours 8-8.5 can you please reply if size 41 was a good fit? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I ordered the 41. Looking forward to riding in them!

Great Road Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought a pair of these for my wife and she loves them! Very comfortable and very light weight. Black/Titanium is unique color combo. Comes with multiple arch inserts which is good for her since she has high arches. First pair of shoes she has ever had with adequate arch support. Size runs true. Highly recommend.

Are these shoes compatible with schwinn...

Are these shoes compatible with schwinn spin bikes?

Julie,

I will be happy to assist you with this question. This Giro shoe is a very nice shoe but as you know it only comes with a road cleat bolt pattern set up, with an additional SPD cleat adapter thread insert. What this means to you is that you would need to buy a cleat adapter 27 dollars which we do not stock and for the rigors of spin class I would not recommend an adapted setup to make this work. The recommendation I do have for you is the Shimano SH-WM63 Product #SHI001X which are currently 20% off, these ultimately would be your best bet for everything spin related as they are fully designed to work with the spin type cleat.

Are these shoes easy to slip on and off...

Are these shoes easy to slip on and off for triathlon transitions? I'm not sure about the ratchet strap system as I have Velcro on my current road bike shoes. Thanks.

Responded on

The ratchet system is very simple to use and the shoes should work well for a tri transition. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me directly. brett@competitivecyclist.com

really durable, comfortable, efficient!

I have worn the crap out of these shoes and they still totally get it done--never had any issues from the moment I put them on. I wear a women's sample size 7 (perhaps I have a bit of a wider toe-area then some) and wore a 39 in these and it was perfect.

great shoes

These are my first Giro shoes and I love them. Very comfortable. Ratchet adjustment works well, nice cleat measurement markers on the sole... great shoes. One note, sizing is small. I am typically a 38, but seeing these were European styled with a smaller toe box, I ordered a 38.5. Still too small, had to exchange for a 39 which fits perfectly.
