After losing a friend in a snowboard-tree accident, I vowed to ride with a helmet to honor his life and to make sure his tragic passing didn't happen in vain. I picked up the Giro Battle because of it's low profile and low cost, and I couldn't be happier.

This helmet's great. It's my first, but I'm a fan! It took a day to get used to, but now I won't ride without it. I appreciate the peace of mind it affords me. I'm able to push it harder because I'm not constantly worrying about wacking my head on something.

Also, helmets are WARM! I'm much more comfortable with a helmet than just a hat. Another bonus is that when you bail, your goggles, hat and headphones don't eject off your head and get packed with snow.

I have an average size head, my fitted hat size is 7 3/8. I bought a medium first, because I wear a Medium size Giro bike helmet. But it was way too small. The Large fits comfortably, and I can wear my Coal balaclava and Nixon Whip headphones underneath the helmet.

I also tried out the Skullcandy Homebrew headphones with it. They tuck into the helmet's earpads and work well, but blocked so much external noise I couldn't hear my friends talk. So I'm going with the Whips underneath. The helmet is compatible with my Electric goggles.

Hope that helps any potential buyers, this helmet fits great and looks great. If you're like me, the peace of mind that comes with it will up your riding level.
