Is this helmet warm enough? other helmets my child has worn has been warm and she has not had to wear any hat under the helmet.

Not very adjustable

I purchased one of these for my kid. We tried to use the added foam pads so it would fit better but they refused to stay seated and repeatedly pushed up toward the top of the helmet. We returned it and purchased an adult small that is adjustable in the back, which fits him much better (he is 9). My advice would be to spend the extra $40 so your child has a helmet that actually fits properly. Or spend an extra $70 and get an adult small with vents that open/close. My only complaint with the Giro helmets as a whole is that the lining is not hypoallergenic so one of my children has to endure massive head-itch while skiing.

Great helmets

Our kids are learning to ski, ages 7, 11. The helmets are great...quality construction, protective but lightweight with soft, warm padding inside and on ears. Highly recommend this helmet. We tried on several and these fit the best.

The photo for the "Mat White with Swirls" does not show the pink swirls on the helmet that are shown on other websites. Are they just not shown in the photo or is this a different version of the helmet?

I purchased one for my daughter and it does have the swirls

Is this helmet compatable with the Giro TuneUps Audio drops?

Responded on

No. You would have to buy the G9, Encore 2 or Revolver to install drops. All other helmets over the $100 price area also drop ready. The ears on the G9 jr don't have a "drop" pocket.

The Giro G9 Jr helmet in "mat black with block letters" does not show any latters in the photo - at least that I can see. Can you descibe what the block letters look like and where they are located?

The whole helmet is covered in the word "Giro" repeated over and over in a grid. It's hard to make out, but I attached a detail shot from Giro's website. Hope that helps.
