Giro designed the G10 Helmet for riders who push their limits in wide-open freeriding terrain. The wide-angle cut and gapless goggle fit insure you can see your takeoff, spot your landing, and spy everything in between with out any paranoia-inducing blind spots. In-mold construction fuses the exterior polycarbonate shell with the interior EPS liner for ultimate durability without compromising weight. 14 vents with on-the-fly adjustability combined with snap-fit, super-plush removable ear pads keep you cool, comfortable, and levelheaded regardless of the conditions. The G10 is TuneUps compatible.

Bottom Line: Air it out with confidence when you wear the Giro G10 Helmet.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Best on the block!!!

This helmet was the greatest snowboarding related purchase I've ever made. The "easy to adjust" straps keep it snug and comfortable and the lining is super soft and conforms perfectly to your skull, gotta keep your noggin safe, the earflaps are also nice and soft and keep your ears warm and comfortable. The outer shell is both tough and light and the adjustable vents are perfect for keeping your head nice and cool on those warmer days. This helmet is a great investment especially for the $67 dollar price tag. Five stars all the way! This helmet has saved me from serious injury at least twice. Best purchase ever made.

Just and afterthought: If you purchase this helmet bring it along when shopping for goggles, some goggles don't fit very well with this helmet.

Great Helmet

By:
January 21, 2008

I own the G10 Olenick Pro Model, and it's a great product. It fits extremely well, is comfortable, and looks great. The vents work spectacularly, and the helmet is very well cushioned. Keep in mind, however, that only Giro goggles will work perfectly with this helmet. I own a pair of Anon Realms and there is a very annoying gap present, yet when I wear my Scott goggles the gap goes away.

Solid brain bucket.

By:
April 17, 2009

A solid, well-made helmet from Giro. Pretty comfortable, adjustable fit, adjustable venting. I added a wired Tune-Ups kit for audio; works great. Seems like it will do a good job protecting my skull from rogue snowboarders or my own stupidity.

If you're questionable about size, order up. You can adjust the size down quite a bit. I was on the border of XL/XXL and got an XL (XXL was out of stock...) It fits me pretty well, but I have to have the adjustment all the way out and it's still a little tight sometimes in the back.

Giro G10 is Great

By:
January 12, 2009

I really love my G10, it's light, very comfortable and works great with my Smith goggles and glasses. I hardly know I have it on. My wife and son have G10's too and are very happy as well. I highly recommend this helmet.

LET DOWN AGAIN by GIRO

By:
March 13, 2009

If this had not happened to me on another GIRO product, then I would have given this helmet such a LOW rating. The forward anchors for the fit adjustment system have consistantly (3rd GIRO helmet)broken loose from the foam they are in above the temple. Otherwise the helmet is great. Just not a favorite of mine.

I'm on my second one

By:
January 20, 2009

I rode the G10 for about 3 seasons and then hit my head pretty good one day. There were no visible cracks, but I figured it was time for a replacement. The new version comes with a retention system just like the Giro bike helmets, so the fit is even better with the new lid. The venting system rocks, keep it closed up on cold days or cold mornings, then open it up on the fly as the temp increases or as you start lapping the park, trees, or bumps. Good style too.

Thunder Dome

By:
October 26, 2008

so I have a 64 CM dome, finding a helmet wasn't exactly easy. I rock the XXL and I left the size sticker on cause I'm proud of my huge cranium.

Anyhow the helmet isn't to heavy, its warm, vent operates very easy with gloves on, chin strap is comfy, ear guard things are nice too. Overall very satisfied with it.

I feel naked skiing without this thing now, and extremely less confident also.

ok helmet but vents at the rear have no diffuser allowing wind to directly access the back of the head ... very uncomfortable in windy conditions. At this price we shouldn't have to use foam and tape to make adjustments to make the gear work well.

Great helmet, very comfortable. But more important is the service from Backcountry. The first helmet came with a broken part. Backcountry did not hesitate to replace it. They sent the replacement even before getting the defective one back. They made the process so easy. Thanks very much! I will not hesitate to buy from here again.

Question about choosing helmet size: If I plan to wear a hat under the helmet, should I measure the circumference of my head wearing the hat? Wearing the hat bumps me up about 1.5 cm from a medium to a large, so im unsure which to buy.

By:
January 9, 2009

You should probably buy a large, because it usually won't work if the helmet is too small. But, I wear my beanie under my helmet, (with goggles under helmet too) and to make mine work, I just took out the liner in the helmet (K2 Indy helmet... very nice fyi). So I'm sure you can find a way to make it work. If for any reason it doesn't fit, Backcountry can exchange you for the one that will be better.

Good Ski Helmet

By:
July 8, 2009

The Giro G10 is a great helmet for pretty much all conditions. It fits very comfortably, it is good with goggles, and the ear pieces keep your ears very worm and protected. I would definitely recommend this helmet to any all mountain/all terrain skier.

Yeah its going to be tough to find the perfect fit. I have a pair of POC's that leave no gap and a pair of Spy's that gap pretty badly. I'm going to be testing some A-Frames soon enough to see if they have a gap issue with the helmet also. I always carry an under-armor head stocking style hat to wear under it. It prevents the brain freez. Try the phenom goggles from smith, theyre perfect for a small face and i have had no gap issues with my g10. They also have the anthem which is pretty much a women's model of the phenom.

Nice Helmet

By:
April 8, 2009

I am a first time helmet user and liked this one. My head measures at 59 cm and I got a large...it fit very well and the adjustment knob in the back snugs things up nicely. The helmet stays in place, holds goggles well and as a bonus it keeps you warm. Fortunately I did not have to test it out, but it seems very strong and feels like it would hold up well if any encounters with trees or rocks should occur!

Great Helmet

By:
January 7, 2009

As the subject implies, great helmet. Good fit and the adjustable knob at the base of the helmet adjusts the helmet to your head to make for a perfect fit. Helmet keeps your head warm and protected from hard falls. I have oakleys and smiths and they both fit well to the helmet. My husband has the glossy finsih Giro and problem he has is the goggles slide off if he isn't wearing them. I don't have that problem with the matte finish.

Cool - Literally

By:
January 9, 2009

I usually get very hot when skiing, and perspire a lot. I was therefore a bit apprehensive about wearing a helmet - any helmet. The venting on this G10 works very well. Unless it is very cold or snowing heavily, I ski with the vents open all the time. (In seriously cold weather you could wear a thin beanie under the helmet). This is a very comfortable helmet and I do not even know it is there. No problem either using Smith Fuse goggles with the helmet. I would recommend this helmet to a friend!

Awesome, Awesome Helmet.

By:
November 3, 2008

I got this helmet two seasons ago. All helmets save lives this one included. I am reckless and often ski on the edge of control. Trust me when I say This helmet can take many big falls and come out unscathed. The helmet is light, warm and, comfortable. I wear it all day without getting too hot or cold. It fits wonderfully with my A-Frames, little to no gap, and preforms. The best helmet I have worn to date. (This is my 4th helmet.)

Simply put, a helmet is a key piece of ski gear for the reckless and the Giro G10 is a prime choice.
