A classic for good reason.
A classic in the company's storied line of all-weather-ready apparel, the Giordana Silverline Jacket long ago struck a chord of perfection with its excellent fit and ability to ensure comfort in nearly any low temperature range. It's seen some upgraded materials and details over the years, but little has changed substantially, and we think that's a good thing.
The Silverline Jacket is a relative bargain, too. The Corsa fabric, which is waterproof/windproof/breathable, is great as an outer layer on cold days, and it's even brushed on the inside for softness and a little extra warmth. Aiding in the fit and function are Super Roubaix panels on the back, down the sides, and under the arms. Super Roubaix is a nylon-spandex blend frequently seen in arm warmers, helping both with fit precision and moisture evaporation. The chest panels, the majority of the arm panels, and the two big back panels are Corsa again for warmth (the spearhead down the middle is Super Roubaix, however).
The jacket works great as a warm-up/cool-down piece for races, but more importantly, it's a winter jacket for the daily grind. Any time it's below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, you'll want something that's windproof for your chest like the Silverline, which makes a great piece for such weather. It's not heavily insulated, however, so the colder it gets, the more you'll want to layer up inside — something the generous cut of the jacket allows rather easily.
The Giordana Silverline Jacket has all the Giordana hallmarks, too. The zipper has an easy-to-grab rubber pull tab that works great even when wearing gloves, and there is a draft flap behind the zipper as well. The tops of the pockets are finished with reflective piping. The Giordana logos on the chest and arms are also reflective. It's available in six sizes from Small to XXX-Large and in four colors — Red/black white, Fluo Yellow/black white, Blue/black white, and Black/black white.
