Description

Making mid-level look great.

We’ve long been fans of Giordana’s innovative, comfortable, and almost always-stylish clothing, and the Silverline pieces are always price/quality standouts. For a good chunk less than the top-line FR-C apparel, you get an awful lot of the same technology woven in. In the Silverline Bib Shorts, Giordana makes use of a few fabrics, starting with one called Moxie, that wick moisture away from your skin, but always reduce muscle oscillation over rough roads, which helps delay the onset of muscle fatigue.

Additionally, Giordana cut the Silverlines to mimic the body in the cycling position. The result is that, while the bibs may feel a little awkward when you’re standing up straight, once you throw a leg over the bike and start riding, everything will settle into place, without any bunching or gaps to speak of. You’ll sit on Giordana’s Nimbo O.F. chamois, a multi-density, perforated chamois that supports your soft tissue and regulates temperature and moisture.

  • Supportive, nearly-compressive fit
  • Nimbo O.F. chamois
  • Abrasion-resistant fabric at the seat panels

Run small vs Pearl or LG

Originally got the large and had to return due to running too small. I am a 36 waist and they were tight. Got the XL and still have great compression. But not crazy tight like the Large. Chammy is good and the straps while a bit tight, were not bad once on.

Longest ride on these was 68 miles and they were very comfortable. These are not my go to bibs for longer rides and they rival the Pearl Izumi PRO's that I abolsutely love.

I would reccomend if you are looking for a good quality bib but do not want to pay Assos or Rapha prices.

Giordano Silverline

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Returning because just too small. I'm a "Clydesdale" at 5'10", 200#, 35" waist and the XL's I bought were tiny. I'd like to keep them because their quality appears awesome.

Straps are Uncomfortable

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I was not impressed with the straps and returned the bib. I replaced it with the laser and love them!

Great bibs!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just had these for a few rides but already I'm thinking they are my new favorites. My only complaint about the design is that the straps are quite narrow. Great materials, sewn well, and good chamois. A caution about sizing-I wear Large in Pearl Izumi, Sugoi, Assos, Hincapie, and Bellwether. I'm just a little too big for Mediums and Large is comfortable. As you read through the item description above take note of several mentions of 'compressive'. and 'compression'. These Giordana fit very snugly! They are between a Medium and Large-be forewarned!

Follow up: My wife is a Personal Trainer and a runner and has been wearing compression clothing for some time now. She reminded me that by definition and design the materials must fit tight. The key is to take time to put the shorts on without tugging and ripping fabric or seams. Once on, it's like a second skin and you forget about them.

And what makes a good ride great is if you never think about your butt or your feet!

your a size large in izumi....what size of these did u get? large also and they were tight?

Responded on

These run smaller than Izumi but once you get them on they are super comfortable and the pad stays in place. They don't feel too tight-just fit like a second skin.

solid bib, but chamois not up to par

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

u get what you pay for? i like this bib, good fit, good feel and compression... versatile black with silver trim, and a good price, but i think the trade off in price is in the quality of the bib. It's adequate for 1 hour rides but any longer and I start to get a little chafe at the bottom of the buttock crease. It's not a seam or anything, i just think the padding quality is not as good as you'd get in a more expensive bib.

Fantastic bibs!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've owned several sets of Castelli, Capo, Cannondale, hincapie and other random brands of bib shorts over the years, and this set has set itself apart! Two things become obvious right from the start; first the compression/muscular support is beyond any other set I've owned without being constricting at all, and second the bands literally grip the skin with zero gaps, contouring perfectly around the lower thigh above the knee (the term 2nd skin comes to mind). (My Capo shorts do come in a close second.)

Fit is true--I am thick-legged, and at 5'11" 200, XL is a perfect fit. I only wish they had more in my size in stock.
