At least they didn't say these were low-rise...

I'm 5'3" tall, weigh 120 lbs, and ordered a small. They fit me well in the legs and hips, and I like the shorter inseam. What I wasn't so stoked about: the waistline came up pretty high in the front (as in, to my belly button), and even higher in the back (like, uncomfortably high). I'm on the shorter side of average, so this might not be as much of a problem for taller women. Also, I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned the big padding on the smaller sizes. It's big enough to bunch up a little while walking.

If you don't mind a higher waist, go for it. If you're short or have a short torso, you've been warned.

The one review said his wife was a med but needed a L or XL in these. I usually wear a med but I guess I need to order a L? Is the sizing chart right??

I don't own any Giordana shorts but am ordering some tights this afternoon. I, too, have been investigating their sizing. I wear a Med Sugoi short but am ordering an XL from Giordana. It doesn't surprise me that they run small as they are Italian, and having spent time in Italy I know European sizes often run small to very small. Here is the Giordana size chart I found on the Team Estrogen site:Women's ShortsSize S M L XLWaist in Inches 23-25 25.5-27 27.5-29 29.5-31Hip in Inches 33-35 35-37 37-39 40-42Good luck!

If you don't mind big padding

By:

In general I prefer European brands because they are made for slimmer bodies. I am pretty slim (24" waist, 34" hips). I like the simplicity of these shorts as well as the fabric. It's light but strong. Great for warmer places. These shorts are shorter in length relative to some other shorts, but they are not outrageous. They are longer than many tri-shorts I've seen. My problem with these is the padding. I think the size of the padding is the same no matter what size of shorts you buy. The padding is NOT proportionately smaller or bigger. Therefore, if you buy a smaller size short, you end up with gigantic padding. In fact, most of my butt was covered in padding. Very not sexy. With this logic, if you are a bigger person, thus need a bigger size shorts, you should be pretty happy with the amount of cushioning.

Watch the sizes

So I bought these for my wife thinking they would be pretty sexy on her. She usually wears a medium in all the other shorts she has, so thats what I ordered. I just got the medium and there is no way she will fit in these. She's going to need like a large or XL. But I'm not gonna tell her that and get hit ;-)
Just be sure you order a size or 2 bigger than you usually get these run super small.
