As its name implies, the Giordana Over/Under Lightweight Liner Gloves can be worn on their own or under your padded gloves for added warmth in cold weather. A soft terry thumb works well as a nose wipe, and silicone grips on the palms lend dexterity when it's wet out.

They're fine as liners for cycling only

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought them to possibly use for mountaineering as well, but it appears that they're best only as liners for cycling. They do not have silicone pads on the thumbs, which makes them slippery for gripping water bottles during the snow melting process. They are thin enough though to fit inside my Pearl Izumi Cyclone gloves, so I will combine them for really cold days on the bike. For multi-sport liners, such as in mountaineering, the Gore Bike Wear Universal Gloves work great due to the silicone pads on the thumbs as well as the other fingers.

Nice, mid-weight liner

I've been very happy with these liners. A good weight for cooler rides. I wear them under my Pearl Izumi Pro Softshell gloves. They do tend to get caught on velcro, however. But that's a negative I can live with. The material is quite nice.

Giordana Beauty

I love the simplicity of these gloves. That is to say they are light and fit well. They help me grip the bar and have a good area for wiping snot from my face. I also like the high rise cuff, gives complete coverage over warmers. I select my gloves based on two things, must fit well and must pull on and off with ease. No velcro allowed, not on MY cycling kit.

Solid Light weight glove

I am wearing these in the cooler autumn months and find them comfortable with just the right amount of warmth. As a stand alone there good for the mid- 50 temperature range and higher. Haven't worn them as a liner yet so I can't comment on that. One coveat they seem to bleed dye? from the palm area after I am done riding. I have white tape on my drop bar, if you have black or other darker color tape you would probably never notice. The bleeding may stop after washing them..well see.
