Giordana is clever in creating two seriously nice pairs of bib shorts with slightly different focuses. The Body Clone FormaRed Bibs are a PRO grade pair of bibs, formed like a second skin onto your body. These Giordana Laser Bib Shorts are also anatomically shaped to fit you in the riding position, but the fabric is different and much more focused on providing a very special compression effect.
Giordana uses Moovix fabric for these bibs which gives them an omni-directional elasticity that has the effect of a micro-massage on the muscles with each pedal stroke. This naturally promotes blood flow which will have enormous benefits the entire ride. The more blood you can move around to your muscles, the better your performance and recovery will be. The knit of the Moovix fabric has been designed to promote moisture transfer as well, so you'll stay cooler and more comfortable.
Like the FormaRed Bib Shorts, carbon is also used in the fabric of the Laser Bib uppers. The carbon element helps control the stretch of the material and reinforces it for strength. The Giordana Aerofix Gripper System holds the bibs in place with seamless care and offers amazing ventilation. The fabric next to the skin is perforated to enable airflow through the material. The resulting light and breathable strap system keeps the torso cool and dry in a spot that can get notoriously sticky. The mesh rear panel is also shaped in a way to keep the back ventilated and dry. Four needle flat-stitched seams help to control stretch as well as isolate muscle groups. At the bottom, a wide elastic band at the cuffs has silicone dots on the inside to hold the bottoms securely in place when you ride.
Let us not forget the most important part of the bibs: the chamois. The Laser Bib Shorts offer the same top-of-the-line chamois as the FormaRed bibs have. The Cirro OmniForm pad is made from three layers. The layer that sits closest to your skin is made from a special nylon microfiber infused with Aloe Vera that will not wash out of the fabric. Aloe cools, protects and even heals the skin while you're in the saddle. It's a natural defender against bacteria. The middle layer is a waffled memory foam which helps with the moisture management by circulating any dampness to the outside of the shorts so that they can easily air out. The foam is bonded on the bottom with an ultra-fine protective liner. To ensure that seams never come in contact with the rider's body, all stitches are completely concealed in recessed channels. The Cirro O.F. insert stretches like elastic and conforms to your movements on the bike, then returns to its original shape after exercise.
The Giordana Laser Bib Shorts are available in Black/blue, Black/white, and Black. They come in five sizes from Small through XX-Large. Reflective elements add visibility for safety.
- Cirro Omniform chamois provides streamlined comfort
- Carbon fiber threads in the uppers promote fast moisture transfer
- Soft elastic band with silicone dots keeps your shorts in place

These bibs have performed very well for me in my spring riding. I like the extra length in the thighs for compression on the entire muscle group. The straps are wide and comfortable. When they went on sale recently, I bought a second set and put them in the drawer. May be a while until I get to that set since they seem to be very well made--at least as good as the high end Castelli.

I am 5"7, 165 pounds and found the large size bib shorts to be extra long in the thigh area and the material felt like cardboard. Can't describe the feel of the pad or the bib on a ride as I packed them back up and sent them back . Backcountry of course took them back hassle free as always :-)
I rode 50 miles in these bibs the first time I pulled them on, and I could not believe how comfortable they where. To date, I have done about 450 miles in them and I think this is the best chamois/insert I have ever ridden. Im 61 / 160 lbs. and size M fits great.
Rode with these along with other shorts by Castelli (Aero Race), Assos (Mille S5) and Bellwether last season and found myself reaching for these more often than the others. Very nice compression fit like the Castelli's but overall better quality of construction with nice wide supprtiive straps. These shorts are very stable over a long ride and the chamois, while not nearly as cushy as the Assos S5 is more than adequate and very comfortable.
I have been riding this bib all summer. Short commutes to work ~20 miles and and some longer half century rides. It fits well, doesn't sag and stays in place. I have several pair of Pearls and was never fully happy with the fit, and the legs. These have a more euro fit, and the leg grippers are great. Initially the chamois felt a little thin, but it has held its own against my other shorts. All in all, a step up from Pearl for fit from my perspective, and a solid bib.
I've enjoyed Giordana shorts in the past, so I decided to go for it with these and try something new, even in spite of my love affair with Louis Garneau bibs.
So far, they've been great. I wore them for my first century last weekend, and they performed admirably, probably quite a bit better than I did. I felt good for pretty much the entire ride. The pad did its business and didn't rub me raw or anything like that.
The bib straps are a bit weird at first, but they prove themselves on a long ride. These are actually a bit hard to put on because the straps don't have a lot of stretch to them, but after awhile, you forget they're there, since they're completely flat and don't dig in.
All in all, so far I'm really happy with these. The size chart was 100 percent on the mark, and they felt great even over 100 miles. I can't speak to durability yet, but so far, I rather like these.
