Ripstop I Serrated Edge Knife

Despite tough stainless steel construction and an open length of nearly six inches, the Gerber Ripstop I Serrated Edge Knife weighs a mere two ounces. By using a carved-out handle design, Gerber managed to shave this knife's weight and create a low-profile shape that won't feel like a rock in your pocket. The Ripstop I Knife includes dual thumb studs for easy one-handed operation and a straight edge by the tip for precision work that a serrated edge can't quite handle.

Bottom Line: Who knew a knife this light could be this tough?

Pretty handy

I agree that it's a little difficult to close with one hand, but it's not something that I'm too worried about. This guy is small, light, and convenient and with the serrated blade, it's everything I've needed.

it has the little lever in the middle of the handle that you just press to one side and it unlocks the blade so you can close it.

Great Knife for the Price

Good quality knife. Lightweight, small, compact. The only drawback is that there is no safety on the unit.

I like it.

Good knife. Useful in the camps. But I can’t carry Gerber Ripstop I Serrated Edge Knife on climbing and hiking routs cause of lack of harnesses or backpacks attachment point. There is just a clip, which allows carrying it in a pocket. Good for backpacking and light weekend trips. For climbing and hiking I prefer Petzl and Leatherman knifes with carabiner attachment point.
