Day hikers and multi-day backpackers can breathe a sigh of relief, because the Garmont Men's Zenith Mid GTX Shoe was designed with a waterproof breathable membrane, ample traction and supreme support, just for you. Sounds like heaven in a boot, right? A spine-like, articulated structure in the sole further adds to the power of this feature-laden beast.
  • Gore-Tex waterproof breathable membrane keeps you feet dry in wet conditions and allows sweaty moisture to escape from within for supreme comfort
  • Tough, durable nubuck ensures that these boots will go the distance season after season
  • ADD Construction drastically shortens break-in time of this shoe, which means this shoe will fit like a glove all the much faster
  • Water-resistant mesh helps to vent away hot air when you're on the move and allows cool are to enter in exchange
  • Gusseted, padded tongue keeps debris out and adds to the overall comfort
  • Rubber toe bumper protects your toes against damage in the face of rocky terrain
  • Sole features an EVA core for shock absorption, a polyurethane structure for heel control, and a TPU Spine system for midfoot stability and smooth flex
  • Vibram Morlin Hike outsole has large heel lugs for control on steep descents and a ridged forefoot for ample traction in loose terrain

These boots are awesome. Fit comfortable right out of the box, GORETEX booties make them water proof high enough to get you through summer streams or spring snow. Great lacing system and very lightweight for a supportive hiker, they are my go-to for snowshoeing and summer peak-bagging.

I got these boots for a summer of hiking a year ago, and fell in love with them. They are incredibly comfortable right out of the box, they don't even need breaking in. Over time they just conform more to your feet. When they get wet they can get a little deformed, but a good days worth of hiking will fix that, and they'll be right as rain again. My one complaint was that in the previous model, the third aglet down was connected all the way around the boot by a strap that tended to break after some good hiking (or a week of building trail, which was what I was using them for). I purchased my pair of boots from EMS, who with Garmont's warranty gave me a new pair. However, a few months later the same thing happened again. From what I've seen, the newest models have fixed this problem and the strap is now protected by leather, so I'm in the process of seeing if I can get a new pair. Overall, the best pair of boots I've owned (and I've owned a lot). I get zero blisters and couldn't ask for better foot comfort for two weeks of backpacking with a 50lbs pack

What you have looks like the Zenith hike GTX, while this model is the Zenith mid GTX. small difference, but that's why that strap isn't on this one

Zenith Mid GTX voted Outside Magazine's
Gear of the Year Best Light Hiker
Winning the “Light Hiking” category in the Gear of the Year awards, the Garmont Zenith Mid
GTX was praised for its durability and breathability.
“We tried to beat up and overwhelm this light-hiking boot,” says Buyer’s Guide Editor Sam
Moulton. “But we failed. It’s light and flexible enough for quick, mellower hikes, yet still sturdy
enough for more serious adventures in more technical terrain.”
