When the going gets tough, the tough get nasty—the Garmont Women's Nasty Shoe, that is. The Nasty Trail Shoe is lightweight, yet packed with enough support for all-day comfort. Garmond sandwiched a TPU spine between the sole and midsole to bolster stability and help cut down pronation and supination. The compression-molded EVA midsole wraps high around the heel and arch for added cushion and stability on those rooted, cobbled trails. Garmont's RhinoStrike outsole offers tremendous directional traction in the loosepack. If, heaven forbid, your toes meet terra extra firma, the RhinoStrike sole also has an integrated toe bumper.
Bottom Line: It's light, it's agile, its versatile. It's the Garmont Women's Nasty shoe.

True to size: yes. Pay attention to the "euro" sizing: women's size eight is a euro 40 (typically and 8 would be a 39.5). Plenty of room in the toebox. Moderately grippy sole. Comfortable! I wore these shoes to a 12 hour shift at the hospital; also wore them on an 11 hour day in the mountains with 5.5 climbing, scrambling, and trail running. All-around good shoe.

I was psyched about getting these hiking shoes, because of the rave reviews. However, the size 8 was too short! But, I have a different pair of Garmont hiking shoes, which are a perfect size 8. I would caution anyone ordering the Garmont Nasty Shoes to order 1/2 size larger than their regular sized shoes.
