Rock the uphill and the down.
- Extra reinforcement around the cuff, a plastic-reinforced tongue, and a super-thin elastic toe insert in the Rapid Thermoformable liner boost comfort and fat-ski leverage on high-speed turns
- High Overlap panel distributes contact for precise ski control and allows for more independent movement between cuff and lower shell for comfortable walking
- Off-center pivot and Easy-Lock buckle catches on Wide-Open buckles for unrestrictive uphill movement
- Simple walk mechanism switches easily from hike to ski to reduce on-the-hill cursing

My name is Charles Lavoie from Quebec, Canada and on my way bact from Snowbird, I bought the Garmont Luster boots for my wife last friday january 21 at the Backcountry office and warehouse at Salt Lake city. I paid the full price while I see a 40 % discount. Can I get this rebate ?

So far, so good!
This is my first touring boot. The only reason I would hike up, is to go down. After being in la Grave, I realized it was time to buy a touring boot. It was difficult to walk on the rock and ice in my Tecnica's. I was also destroying the sole of my ski boots. I had a hard time deciding which boot to buy. I chose the Luster because it was the stiffest women's boot available in my size. The fit was not perfect, but my boot fitter was able to blow out the toe box and make it work. I also put in an Intuition liner to stiffen up the boot.
I have been using the boot in La Grave for the week and am pleasantly surprised. I thought I would have to be very careful skiing the boot and was worried it would not be stiff enough to drive a big ski. So far, so good. The boot is great in steep icy terrain and ofcourse great in powder. I have not tested it at high speeds yet, but am willing to give it a shot.
same boot as Garmont Radium
I spoke with Garmont, and these are the same boots as last winter's '08-'09 Garmont Radium for women. They are just a different color.
Great, high-performance, stiff boot for the resort and backcountry if your foot is the right size for Garmont's boots. Seem best for narrow, high volume feet.
The stock liners are not fabulous- no cushion, and they are difficult to stretch lengthwise, even with molding. I recommend replacing the Garmont liners with Intuition liners.
I am a shoe size 8, and a 24.5 was too short in length (toe crunch!), and a 25 was too roomy in volume (sloppy skiing).
