Description

No one, that's who.

Reach for the Garmont Men's Dragontail Lite Shoe when you need the stability of a traditional approach shoe for heavier loads and the technical performance of a climbing shoe for scrambling, rock and light hiking tours. With a surplus of gear on your back and a mixed approach in front of you, you can rely on this versatile shoe for the sure-footed confidence to get out and back without incident. Heck, this shoe is even used by mountain guides in the Selkirks, and who else could attest to a shoe with more experience?
  • Tough, durable suede ensures that these shoes will go the distance season after season
  • PU Footbed features fungus and bacterial-resistant treatments to help control odor and funk
  • Heel lock system keeps your heel securely in place so there's no foot sloppiness inside
  • Tri-density rubber midsole puts softer rubber where you need comfort and harder rubber where you need stability
  • Frame Flex Light allows for a smooth forefoot flex for easy, everyday-style walking
  • Vibram Q811 and SuperTrek compound makes for a tacky, super-sticky sole that provides all the grip a climber needs

My first and only choice for ascents and modest backpacking treks w/ a relatively light pack. The low profile fit gives me excellent feel and stability on scree slopes and scrambles. A 21st century hiking boot. From Mt. Superior to Mt. Kilimanjaro I didn't think twice about wearing a different shoe last summer, and they've held up reasonably well after a lot of abuse.

These are the best fitting approach shoes I have ever worn. Fit is a nice medium width - great support, but not too tight. Super stiff forefoot is great for climbing, yet not too stiff for hiking and/or wearing all day. Too many approach shoes are just for show - these are the real deal.
