NOLS and Outward Bound West have both put the Garmont Men's Dakota Mountaineering Boot on their recommended boot list. If that doesn't convince you, try this—Vibram Ice-Trek soles grab more ground than a tractor, while GSA Polyurethane adds enough structure and support to manhandle you up the most rugged trails in the West. Nubuck leather repels water while resisting abrasion, and Garmont Shock Absorption insoles take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.

Bottom Line: If some of the best adventure climbing organizations in the US recommend this boot, well, you get the point.

yes i am pretty sure it is a full length one as they are sturdy stiff boots. hope this helps.

Great Boots, i am 14 and living in New Zealand and they work well on snow ice and rock very sturdy and comfortable, they don't chew up my feat like my last boots. They also work very well with crampons.
