Combine the high-performance of an alpine freeride boot wiht the mobility of a ski mountaineering boot, toss in Dynafit comaptibility, and you've got the Garmont Axon Alpine Touring Boot. Built with support in mind and power on tap, these burly boots go the extra mile to give you precise control over your fat, powder-hungry boards. As one of the two stiffest boots in Garmont's Freeride line the Axon raises the bar for die-hard skiers, patrollers, or alpine professionals looking for a serious boot for laying down lines.

  • Reinforced shell with thick walls in key stress areas cuts down weight and boosts support and stiffness
  • Boot is compatible with Tech binding systems (Dynafit) so you don’t have to heave heavy, cumbersome bindings up the hill
  • A.D.D. tongue features a secondary reinforcement to make it more rigid and it sits higher on the shin for increased contact that results in responsive performance
  • Close-fit, double-injected cuff conforms to your leg so the boot responds for quick turns through trees
  • Boot unlocks for an easy stride on the uphill and locks in two forward-lean positions for the downhill
  • T-nuts on buckles can be moved forward or back to accommodate your lower-leg diameter
  • Asymmetric toe shape relieves pressure on the bone that connects to your big toe
  • Height-adjustable spoiler reduces play between inner boot and shell

Bottom Line: Insert dynamite into mind, light fuse, and wait for the explosion.

Is the Axon or the Radium better suited for wide feet? Are there any specific touring boots that would fit someone with a 105mm wide foot?

hey! i have a 111mm wide foot and use the axon for my AT set-up. my resort boot is always a Nordica or Dalbello, so if you ride either of those brands I would say the fit is comparable. the arch and instep are fairly high and the toe box is generous so definitely bake the liners with a professional boot fitter you trust and get a footbed. I use korks. I ski about 150 days a year and would not use this boot inbounds at Squaw because its still too soft for any ski over 110mm in the waist. hope this answers your question! i
