    Stay connected off the grid.

Don't be left in the dark when you're traveling far from cell service when you're packing the Garmin Rino 650 GPS Radio. This ingenious device packs a high-accuracy GPS receiver, 5W FRS/GMRS radio, and NOAA weather radio within a sleek, easy-carrying interface. This device tracks your every move when you're wayfinding through the wilderness en route to your hunting camp, backcountry campsite, or favorite fishing spot. The included shaded relief basemap covers the entire globe, giving you a colored, high-detail map for navigating through woods, mountains, and open expanses alike. It's compatible with Garmin's aftermarket map offerings, such as high-definition BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, HuntView public/private land mapping, and BlueChart g2 nautical charts (all sold separately).

Communicating with everyone in your hunting camp or backpacking party, the Rino 650's radio works within a 20-mile radius. Not only does this give you the ability to communicate over the radio, but it also transmits your precise location to everyone in your party. And for hunters who'd rather stay quiet in the woods, the device sends text messages for silent communication. Plus, the NOAA weather radio monitors fast-moving storm fronts, keeping you aware of severe weather with a handy map interface showing the precise location of warnings and watches.

The device itself is rather sleek for easy carrying, with a 2.6-inch touchscreen display that works with gloves in inclement conditions. Its rugged design is dust, dirt, and water-resistant to the IPX-7 standard, withstanding one-meter submersion up to 30-minutes.  The tilt-compensated three-axis compass shows your heading as you walk through the woods while the barometric altimeter tracks changes in atmospheric pressure and elevation. Another cool feature is Garmin BaseCamp software functionality. This trip-planning software (works with Mac and PC) turns your computer into a base station for tracking members of your expedition or hunting party. View real-time GPS information on your laptop display, with each Rino device serving as a router/antenna.
