There are a few are-you-sure-that’s-possible-? outcomes of G3’s Joyride technology. One of ‘em is what amounts to the feel of a long ski when you’re in pow and the maneuverability of a short ski on the hard stuff. G3 stuck this intoxicating mix in the Tonic Fat Ski.

  • Joyride camber line reduces camber for easy steering and a predictable response
  • Early shovel lift for sweet float and control on hard pack
  • Dual-density sidewall construction dampens high-speed jitters
  • Low Mass tip geometry reduces tip-flutter

Bottom Line: Your joyride elixir.

Write your question here...I am a 60 year old intermediate to advanced tele skiier. I am on K2 World Piste's now and have used tem 50/50 resort and backountry. I am intrigued by the Tonic and the Rocker technology. Would this be a ski i should consider. How would you compare it to the BD Kilowatt?

Tom, I hope this is not too late with this answer. I am a tele instructor in Northern Idaho and have skied the kilowatt and I own the Tonic.
The BD ski is designed for a powerful skier who lives for speed and may not turn all that much. It floats well and will respond to agressive inputs.
The Tonic is more versatile and will do both short and long radius turns willingly. The ski asks that you ski it with some confidence (a strong 3 buckle or 4 buckle boot helps) but it will reward you with great turns in any snow condition.
If you ski a75mm binding, I'd go with the BD 01 or 02, the Hammer head or Axl I did not like the feel of the Targa binding on this ski.
If you are looking to upgrade, the NTN makes this ski rock!

Cheers
