G3 Ticket Ski - 2008 BCS

I've been on my Tickets for 3.5 seasons with BD 02 bindings. I love them in all conditions. I ski mostly at resorts in the east but this year we've had some powder days.

I have these mounted with G3 Targas and using Garmont EnerG boots. I've used em on soft corn snow, a few inches of powder and lots of hardpack here in PA. They turn quickly for their length and are great at short radius turns. They are very stable at high GS speeds on hardpack, much more so than K2 skis I've used in the past. No chatter whatsoever. Because of the asymmetrical sidecut, you get the most out of the technology by driving the uphill ski. It takes a few days to get used to this, you need strong pressure, but not for as long as you might be used to. I've caught a few edges at first by driving the uphill ski for too long into the turn. Once you get the feel for it, it's a great carver. The topsheet is also very durable, No nicks or scratches after banging them into toboggans and into each other. Would love to have the powder to test them on, but great ski for 90% of PA skiing conditions.

Ive ridden on the 182cm ticket for about a season now, they are great on hardpack and on groomers and will definitely urge you to take them up to speed in said conditions. But the tips are a little stiff in the deep snow and they do get deflected a good bit in crud. Buy these if you ski alot of groomed terrain and want something stable and fun at speed. Don't buy them if you predominantly ride chewed up or deep snow.

In the bad sense.

On the good side. These are nibmle skis that are easy to carve on hard hardpack. They are easy to take through moguls. The asym. side cut makes it easy to keep the skis an equal distance in the turn.

On the bad side. They felt better in alpine turns. There is a very small sweet spot. Never found it to be a stable ski. Not damp. They get deflected in a surprising number of conditions. Not recommended for tele.

Just used these skis for the first time. Set up with Marker Duke bindings. It's really early season, no real backcountry access to speak of in the Mammoth Lakes area yet, so I rode them on the groomers. They function perfectly! Very predictable, responsive and stable even at high speed. Would recommend these skis highly!
