G3 Targa Telemark Binding - XRace - 2006 BCS

This binding is solid. I have no problem skiing aggressive lines with the stiffer cartridges. Highly recommend it for the aggressive tele skier. Nice pairing with the Scarpa T-1 boot.

I was seeking bindings that would be strong (to accommodate my crazy, maniacal husband) but user-friendly (as the maniac had never tele skied before). These bindings are great! They do everything they need to do!

Very light, extremely durable.

Excellent binding...solid performance, easy to install, durable. Race cartridges work wonders in the resort but are (in my opinion) a bit too stiff for touring.

I've skied the Havoc ten days since it arrived, and have had a blast each time. Unfortunately, I was away on vacation during the only (recent) good powder days, so that review will have to wait. But in most every other condition it rocks.
Very quick response on steep tree powder runs. Just find the open spaces and pop through them.
Stable and strong on week-old, sun-crusted a.m. back bowl snow; and fast turning at high speed on the same face at 2 pm, in slush heaven.
Full speed ahead on groomers with big GS turns, hitting every lip and side hill jump and landing with a whole lot of ski underneath. They sometimes get a bit squirrelly if you let them on the groomers, but they're probably just bored.
I'm a bit old for the terrain park (brittle bones?), but I bet they'd be fun based on how much easier getting air elsewhere is for me now.
Following a trend, I mounted my G3's an inch in front of the marked line and it seems to work fine.
So far they are very worth the $$$.
Bring on the spring snow.

This binding's "tour throw" heel is most useful to me when putting on my skis. Step on the tour throw heel tab and flip up the heel lever and you're in your bindings.

These bindings are sturdy. I have a set of Voile hardwire bindings, and they look like toys compared to the Targas. I prefer the way the hardwires ski, however. They provide more consistent tension. I don't like to touch my knee to the ski, so I prefer the Voile binding that has some pull when I'm just perched on the ball of my back foot.

Voile gives you climbing wires and leases with your binding. G3 makes you buy them separately. G3 should at least give you a shoelace or something for liability reasons.

Great fun and free neutral feel with solid, natural performance. Their action feels seamless. I ski aggressively and I like these better than active bindings in all conditions. No worries, you know? And they look good, a simple clean design.

Just great service! I bought G3 Targa Telemark binding, but there were some parts missing in the original box - not the mistake of Backcountry.com. I sent the binding back immediately (at Backcountry.com’s expense) and got new set the next day! Communication was excellent and the new package complete! I recommend this store, and will buy again....thanks!

It's hard to tell whether the change I experienced on the hill was due to the new skis (Black Diamond Arc Angels) or the Bindings (G3 Targa). However, I feel like a new skier. As an alpine convert, I had been frustrated with being relegated to the intermediate slopes with my straight and light Backcountry set up of TUA/Voile from 1990ish. My first day out on my new set-up, however, I felt like I could control my turns and choose my line. I even spent a fair amount of time in the bumps. (Somewhere I never thought I'd be with my old skis and bindings) Cheers to G3 and all you fine folks for making it affordable!
