Description

Defiantly boundless.

A summit-hungry, all-mountain appetite has the ultralight, uber-versatile G3 Spitfire LT Ski. Raised, low-mass tip gives you ease of entry into the pow and crud; traditional camber and an intrepid, go-anywhere 88-millimeter waist means edge-grip for everyday, any-condition ripping. Try as you may, you can't reign in this spitfire.

  • Early Rise 1 profile combines raised low-mass tip with traditional positive camber underfoot for float on pow and crud and superior edgehold on hardpack
  • Hybrid poplar and paulownia wood and fiberglass core keeps the weight low and the energy high
  • Ultralight semi-cap construction uses vertical sidewall and cap combo for tenacious grip, balanced power, reduced weight, and exceptional mobility
  • 88mm waist is wide enough for soft snow yet quick edge-to-edge
  • Mid-radius sidecut means versatility, quick turns, and stability at high speeds

light stiff snow harpoon-sptfire 170

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

i got this ski as a light spring ski touring tool for HR, alpine tours, peak skiing, spring couilour descents. thought it might be a modern version of my old trusty easy to ski barons.
not so. crust harpoon, powder torpedo, very small sweet spot make it very difficult to ski in high altitude crust, wind affected , powder getting warm, any typical imperfect high alpine spring snow. totally unforgiving, with a stiff tip that the slight early rise can't help. Remounted 1.5 cm back after first 2 weeks, still tip dive and crust harpoon.
it does excell on firm, piste, groomers, uniform corn with quick initation, springy energitic rebound, and edgehold. a single purpose ski, that works as well as most resort skis did 20 years ago (think Rossi ST).
