Description

Save your skins, protect your hide.

Store your skins on the G3 Skin Savers and make it easier on yourself when you have to pull them apart in the parking lot. Mesh keeps the glued sides from sticking together, therefore preserving vital stickiness. Regluing skins sucks, and buying new ones is even worse, so do yourself a favor and keep your uphill transportation in prime form by carrying the Savers and using them when it's time to pack up at the summit and 'send it.

  • 110mm saver fits 80 to 100mm skins and the 130mm length fits 110 to 130mm skins

Keep your skins in skiing shape!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These skins are great to store your skins on. They make it super easy to slap them on and (unfortunately) forget about them for the season. You can trim them to match your skin dimensions, but I've chosen to keep mine at full size for ease-of-use.

I store my skins on these between tours as well as during the off-season. It gives my skins time and air to dry as well as keeps the glue free from dust and other crud.

They're not the best for using during your tours, as the adhesive can freeze to the skin-saver making for a very unpleasant exxerience. When touring, I just fold my skins up and put them in my jacket (or pack if it's warmer weather).

Feel free to hit me up!

Makes the setup/tear-down much smoother

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Highly recommend grabbing a set of these, sure they may not be necessary but I swear it makes the setup and tearing down process much smoother. Plus, I'll be using the same pair of skins while my friends are buying new ones next season!

Makes your life much easier.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you splitboard, you need these. For the last few years I've been straining my ass off pulling my skins apart before every trip. With these, they come apart like butttttttttttttter! A MUST BUY item, period.

Too expensive for what they are

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This works nicely to maintain your skins and I am glad I have them. I think the manufacturers should simply include them with their skins. It is ridiculous to charge $15 - $20 for a single strip of plastic mesh.

It'd be cool if G3 just included them

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Yeah, they work great. But they should not be their own item. I guess unless you need to replace them. But it is a bummer that the G3 skins don't come with them. At least the model I got didn't. As far as I am concerned they are a necessity

Great product for your skins

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

They make it super easy to take your skins apart when your out in the Backcountry and all your friends are taking forever to peel apart their skins.

great addition to skins

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

if you don't have g3 skins, buy these! ripping skins apart sucks. this makes your job easier / you don't feel like you're ravaging your skins' glue every time you pull them apart. get over the fact that you feel like an idiot for paying $15 for a strip of plastic (I looked in vain for a comparable material elsewhere), and buy them. they'll make your life easier.

Perfect for storing

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I know they seem like a silly accessory, but they are honestly worth it. These skin savers will help extend the life of your skins, saves you to hassle of trying to pull apart skins that have adhered to one another, and will last as they are made of a durable and flexible material.

Nice stuff :)

Very practical.
Elastic, flexible material which allows the skins to fold smoothly for storage.

Save your skins

Save some money from season to season! Purchase these to help store your skins after you have dried them out.

Perfect for storing skins

These live up to their name. Great for saving the glue on your skins during the unfortunate times when you aren't skiing. Cheap enough, and easy to apply to the skins.

Save 'em !

Save 'em !

These skins are very much enjoying a 2nd season, thanks to religious use of these skin savers.

I watch my friends struggle to pry their skins apart, and lament at the wear and tear they incur on the glue. Not I, queen of the mesh. I shan't be so foolish. nay.

If you want to show some skin for a long time to come, you should invest in this product.

I use Skin Savers . These work as advertised. Not much else to say.

Good Stuff

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Saves my skins, what more could I want? Wish they were a bit wider for splitboard skins, but they work so no major complaints. Will buy again for my ski skins!

A necessary accessory for skins

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These skin savers work great! they prevent you from have to rip the skins apart when you just go glue to glue. If you have skins and aren't using skin savers I highly recommend picking up a pair. Nick work G3

Clutch Backcountry Tool

I love these skin savers, they really extend the life of your skins/glue. I use them for storage and while touring. G3 actually tells you NOT to take your skin savers while touring in the backcountry in their instruction booklet for skins, but I think those folks are crazy. I hate throwing my back out mid-tour while trying to pull my skins apart, and these puppies do just the trick to ensure swift and smooth skin to ski application/removal.

Neat stuff.

Hey Lexi, I'm about to buy some skins (for my new splitboard, yay!)... would you say these are a must-buy along with skins? How exactly do you use them? I'm new to all things skinning, and super stoked to learn ALL THE THINGS :)

NICE

Far superior to the Black Diamond savers that come with their skins. Now if only they could make a bag that holds skins fatter than 90mm.Highly recomend

Cheaper than the Love Glove

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These work great, but don't leave 'em on in the summer!!! The little openings coagulate the skin glue into globs if stored in a hot place.

Responded on

I was just about to store my skins for the summer with the Skin Savers, although I also have the Love Gloves until I saw your comment. Guess I'll go back to the Gloves.

Or just bust out the parchment/waxed paper...

I need something to put my skins on to...

I need something to put my skins on to save them, and while in the backcountry the sheets I have now are 140mm like my skins, the issue is I have no room for error when putting them on. I was thinking about getting the BD Cheat Sheets at 170mm instead. What do you guys think?

Responded on

Taylor, I have the K2 Backdrop, 142 at the tip. I bought these 140mm width and they are perfect, and even have room for error. If you're skis are 140 only at the tip, these will be fine for application in the backcountry, even with big gloves on.
