G3 Reverend Ski - 2006 BCS

Skied the Reverend today in MT .Back home now wishing I had a few more days on this powerful but playfull ski. Did well with speed ,floated powder,and busted crud with ease.Liked it slighlty more than yesterdays Sick Bird but not quite as well as BD Verdict. Overall an excellent tele ski.

I have these mounted with Fritschi Freeride bindings. They are a great ski. They float in powder and are super agile on groomed runs. They are also very light, they feel lighter than my other skis which are 82mm at the waist. Light weight agile yet power to get through crud, a great ski.

Great skis, definitely handles better at speed and rewards those willing to open the throttle. Terrific float, even when skinning uphill with a heavy pack.

This is one of my favorite big touring skis. Cuts through the crud and opens up when you want them to. A bit sluggish in trees, but that is not what they are designed for. Very stiff and lightweight, similar to the Black Diamond Verdict but a little more agile.

These skis are great all rounders. I have a pair mounted with Hammerheads and ski the Garmont Synergy boot. That's about the lightest boot I'd want on these skis, because they're big and they both encourage and reward aggressive skiing. They handle beautifully in all conditions: bottomless powder, soft bumps, and highly variable (read breakable crust and other challenging conditions) backcountry snow outside of Telluride. For the width underfoot, they're surprisingly quick edge to edge; they have great float; they are powerful enough to punch through crud and slop; and they are very stable at speed. You need to stay on top of them, so if you're just learning to telemark, beware. For more experienced skiers, this is a great quiver of one choice.

I have my Reverend's mounted with Dynafit bindings, and have spent several days in the steeps (45-60-degrees) with these. They are very rewarding skis when you let them run fast and really edge hard, since they seem to handle variable conditions and chop very well. They excel at speed. As mentioned previously, they also skin well, since they're really light for such a big ski. When you're tired or just don't want to ski at 100% effort, they're a handful, since initiating turns seems to take more effort than many skis (I may have a too-big ski at 185cm for my 180# carcass). Overall, an amazingly light crud and cement buster, but you have to be strong to initiate.
