Focus on dropping in, not catching up.

Improving upon its already-legendary design, G3 used plush, high-traction synthetic material on the base of the High Traction Splitboard Skin. Compared to previous skins, the high-friction material offers a 10- to 20-percent increase in traction on steep, hard-packed surface. Couple this increase in climbing ability with tip connectors that give this skin a glove-like fit, and you get the ideal solution for ditching the lift crowds in favor of untouched lines.

    • Non-toxic, solvent-free glue sticks at -30C
    • RipStrip reduces skin-to-skin adhesion for easier separation
    • Asymmetrical tip-and-tail connectors with self-aligning stainless steel hands
    • 16cm of length adjustment

    Good Grippy Skins

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'd previously owned voilé skins and they were approaching the end of their useful life, so I thought I'd try another brand. These are lighter than the voilés so that's an immediate benefit. They're also pretty grippy, I'd rather sacrifice a little weight/glide if it means a grippier skin. My only gripe was one of the clips snapped the first time I used them, luckily it was the tail clip and not the tip so I had the rest of the trip with a ski strap to hold it in place. When I got home (it happened it japan) very promptly arranged for a new pair. Overall pretty happy with these skins.

Solid Skin, Glue could use some help

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The G3 High Friction Skin is one of the better gliding skins I have used, its only downfall is the glue. The glue, even when taken care of is not the best. G3 could make this a 5 star skin by updating their glue compound.

    Split Boarding Made Easier

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I always watched my girlfriend struggle in the skin track with her split board. The snowboard is just shorter than a pair of skis and therefore it has less grip. Being so wide its also harder to get them on edge to really dig into some of the harder snow, only compounded by a soft boot. After her K2 Skins finally died decided to give these a try.

They do stick better and have more friction, it is just easier for her to skin. Pictured below is us skinning up a 45 degree chute which I dont think would have been even possibly with her old skins. After this we went to a yurt and I watched Kelly storm up an icy south facing slope in the morning sun, again something not possible with her older skins.

The tip and tail attachment points are awesome. They are a little tough to get on but, they are so secure once on, more secure than my skis.

As always G3 included their best skin cutter which makes setting these up a breeze.

Time will tell on how well they hold up. Her and I had the same skins both made by Pomoca. Mine lasted 3 years, hers 2 before the glue kept sticking to the skis. Could have re-glued them but, I wanted her to try these out as I thought they would help, and they did!

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Split Boarding Made Easier

    Worst Glue Ever

Had these for about a year before the glue decided that it preferred sticking to my skis, instead of the skin. Most of the glue is gone on the tail, and I have to bring a rag soaked with goo gone on every tour.

G3 won't even return my e-mails. Again, this happened after only one season of use. Awful. Reglueing my skins tonight and I will never buy G3 skins again.

Oh, and their traction isn't as good as the black diamond skins, but their glide isnt noticeably better to compensate.

      Typical skins

They are light and full of traction. Worth the $200 bucks? I don't know. There are a lot of options out there. The tip and tail clips are very nice, the skins are light and easily packable. The one downside I found is they are a bit short when it comes to the actual length of the skin but they still grip well..

Does not work on the Jones ultracraft

Great skins. I've always had G3 for my split board. I bought the new ones thinking they were better but the new tail clip does not work with boards with a blunted tail or fish tail like the Ultracraft or Hovercraft.

To get these skins or skins from any other brand to work with the Ultracraft or Hovercraft split you'll want a set of tail clips from G3 called the Skin Tail Clip. They're sold in pairs.
