The Tahoe collection represents the sweet spot in Fuji's hardtail range of bikes. Words like 'workhorse' and 'all-rounder' get thrown around when people talk about the Tahoe 1.0, but we prefer to simply call it a solid bike at a great value. Proven geometry, durable materials, and reliable componentry all go into the Tahoe build, making it the optimal choice for a dependable machine that will keep going year after year.

Fuji decided to base the Tahoe 1.0 around its proven A2-SL alloy frame. Super light alloy tubes were chosen for the hardtail design, as their known durability and comfortable ride characteristics made them the ideal choice for a stable cross-country frame construction. Fuji designed the front triangle with its oversized PowerCurve down tube, hydroformed top tube, and semi-integrated tapered head tube. At the rear triangle, Fuji welded the A2-SL tubes to form its 'A-style' seatstays and cold-forged dropouts, with a CNC'd post disc mount and replaceable hanger rounding out the back end. Fuji decided to pair its hardtail frame platform with RockShox's reliable Recon Gold TK fork. Going along with the dependable theme of the Tahoe design, this fork features a bomber alloy steerer mated to 6061 T-6 aluminum crown. Its Solo Air technology soaks up the bumps, to keep your confidence remaining firmly intact through its 100mm of trail-smoothing travel. The fork features Rock Shox's TurnKey lockout, allowing you to firm up your ride as needed.

Fuji knew that a burly frameset would require equally tough componentry, which is why it spec'd out the Tahoe 1.0 with Shimano's proven Deore XT group. The front derailleur is the XT with 34.9mm clamp, and the rear is the XT SGS Shadow. The crankset is the XT Hollow Tech II with integrated spindle and triple (24/32/42T) ring configuration, with a Deore 11-36T 10-speed cassette out back. A KMC X10 chain was selected for long-running life and smooth operation, with shifting controlled using Deore Rapid Fire shifters.

The braking system paired to the Tahoe 1.0 is Tektro's Orion hydraulic disc option. With hydraulics the norm in cross-country setups, Fuji decided to use the reliable and powerful hydraulic braking package provided by Tektro's Orion series. The 180/160mm rotors provide incredible stopping power in both wet and dry riding conditions. In the wheelset department, Fuji paired its 32-hole mountain disc hubs with Alex DP17 rims. Hutchinson's ultra-grippy Cougar 26 x 2.2in tires wrap the sturdy hoops, providing a plenty of traction in all-weather riding conditions.

At the cockpit of the Tahoe, Oval's M200 680mm alloy riser bar and reverse bolt technology stem assure stable front-end handling, with and M200 seatpost and saddle keeping you comfortably supported over the center of the frame. Fuji's dual density kraton grips and Wellgo ATB pedals round complete the Tahoe 1.0.

The Fuji Tahoe 1.0 is available in 15, 17, 19, 21, and 23in frame options, and in the color Black/green.

awesome ride

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

just got this for my wife, been a fan a Fuji, great bike and a lot of attention to details (same line of components, full XT drive-train, even the colors are matching - handlebar/seat-post/saddle) . The only upgrade required is a set of SPD pedals

awesome ride

Fuji Tahoe 1.0 - excellent bike!

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought the 17" frame size. The bike arrived very well packaged. Assembly took around 15 minutes and was a simple case of attaching the seat post, wheels, pedals and handlebar. Brakes and gears required no further adjustment.

It's a great looking bike. Good component set. The Shimano drivetrain and Rock Shox fork are decent and dependable. I've not had experience of Tektro brakes before. But they seem to work well out the box.

I've not had the chance to give the bike a full workout on the trails yet, but initial impressions are very positive. It handles very nicely for a 26.

Well pleased with this purchased and the great service from Backcountry/Competitive Cyclist. If you're after a 26" MTB in this price range, you can't go wrong with the Fuji Tahoe 1.0.

Fuji Tahoe 1.0 - excellent bike!

Great Bike, Great Components, Great Deal

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I researched every bike available and could not find a better deal. Quality and construction are top notch and the XT component group can not be beat. I was wavering between buying a 29er or getting this 26" wheel bike. I went with the Tahoe 1.0 since I was on a budget and an this was the best deal I could find on a mountain bake with quality components. Components are the key on any bike for most riders, If I decide to get a 29er in the future I can buy a frame, fork and wheel set and switch everything over. I was very impressed with the shipping and pre delivery assembly. It looks like Backcountry took the time to assemble and adjust the bike then repacked it in a custom box. I have experience assembling bikes and was expecting to spend a day setting everything up. When the bike arrived I basically had to install the pedals, seat, and handlebars. The brakes and shifters arrived adjusted and working fine.

Great Job Backcountry Techs
