FOX’s 40 R features a lightweight chassis with a trusted coil spring that is easy to adjust, delivering you a reliable and plush ride. The updated chassis 40 R is around 300 grams lighter than the previous version due to the new lowers, crowns, and stanchions. The new 40 R also features replaceable threaded inserts at the brake mounts and dropouts, and a bleed port on the back of each seal on the lowers allows you a convenient way to equalize pressure build up.

The 40 R runs on a reliable coil spring that offers the plushest possible feel. Coil sprung forks also provide longer intervals between service than air-sprung forks, which means your ride stays dialed-in longer. And FOX includes three springs to makes weight adjustments quick and easy. While the included springs are perfect for most setups, additional tuning springs are available to accommodate every rider. The 40 R features external rebound and preload adjustments, and with FOX’s open-bath shim stack damper, you’ll have plenty of control over the fork and will be ready for any trail condition.
