Description

Light and stout.

Air sprung and treated with the smooth and durable Kasima coating, the 2013 Fox 36 Float FIT RC2 with 160mm of travel rivals the plush action of coil forks — at pound lighter or better. As we all know, when you're working for elevation, having the equivalent of a tallboy strapped to your fork isn't going to help matters. Aside from reduced weight, what also helps make that climb easier is the FIT RC2 damper.

The damper, a cartridge type that uses an expandable bladder to seal suspension oil from air for consistent action, has both low- and high-speed compression tuning. This means you can dial the fork to offer a bob-reducing, pedal-friendly platform with the low-speed adjustment. Or, back it off for plusher, small-bump complaint ride. The high-speed adjustment lets you find your preference for large hit resistance. This versatility lets you set the Float RC2 for optimum trail leveling performance.

Not only does the air spring reduce weight, it also has a unique curve. It's tuned to provide a plush ride at the top of the stroke with a progressive ramp-up to avoid bottoming at the end. The air spring is also simple to reduce travel internally, by adding spacers under the air piston, if you'd like to customize your front end's ride height or headtube angle.

The 2013 Fox 36 Float 160 FIT RC2 Fork's lower legs and crown are powder coated in Gloss White. It has a 1-1/8 to 1.5in tapered steerer tube and post mount disc brakes. The beefy 36mm chassis is stiff and strong, and made even better by the inclusion of a 20QR thru-axle system.
