Description

Performance package.

There was a time when the oft-overused descriptor 'beefy' could be applied to 32mm stanchion forks. Things have changed quickly, and now 32mm forks are serving duty on highly capable trail bikes and XC race bikes alike. In fact, the Fox Racing Shox 32 Float 140 RL sports travel that, at one time, was considered freeride territory -- without the weight.

We've come a long way since then, and bikes that populate trails now offer ride dynamics and performance levels shared with high-performance motorsports. Features like the 32 Float's optional 15mm thru-axle, and its hollow truss-to-seal flange ensure weight is minimized. But, more importantly, this enhances the overall chassis stiffness for unparalleled steering precision and ride dynamics.

Complementing the 32 Float 140's flex-fighting chassis is an easy to adjust and reliable open bath damper. It offers rebound tuning on the upper right leg, and, for efficient climbing, a lockout that's activated via a crown-mounted lever. Preload is changed by adding or removing air from the air spring, that, on average, can weigh up to a pound less then coil sprung counterparts.

The Fox Racing Shox 32 Float 140 RL comes in Gloss Black with a Grey Logo, or Black with either a Grey or Black and White Logo. It has a 1.5in tapered steerer with a 15QR thru-axle or standard 9mm.

New & Unused :(

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I got it, thinking my bike had the tapered head tube (from the looks on the outside), It doesn't, sadly it is just sitting around collecting dust.
I'm not sure If i'm to sell it or wait till the day I might get another 26" bike and then upgrade it with the one I already bought..
If anyone wants it please contact me. I do not think Backcountry would take it back after so long..
Thanks

Not really a question, just an answer for many. If your frame has a 1.5 inch neck you can mix richey head sets to make it a Taper, check Jenson usa for specifics. I know it is listed as an option for my Tracer 29

Will the Fox Racing Shox 32 Float 140 RL fix a Gary Fisher King Fisher 2 bike?

Responded on

This fork has a tapered tube and will have to match up with a frame with a tapered head tube. Your Kingfisher does not have that tapered head tube.

Does this come with the star nut, or do I need to order that also?

Responded on

Most forks do not come with a star-nut, but most headsets do. So either buy one separately, or buy a new headset to go along with the new fork!

I have a giant yukon fx bike, just wondering if this fork fits on may bike, may old fork steer tube size is 1 1/8 and the 9 inches long. Thanks

Responded on

I believe that The Yukon FX has a straight head tube, which means this fork, which has a tapered steerer tube, will not fit.

Sorry buddy!

Hi, I have a Giant Revel 2012, this fork can I put on this bike. Thanks in advance

Responded on

I don't think that your bike has a tapered headtube, which is the only configuration this fork is available in at the moment. Also, I wouldn't use a 140mm fork on a hardtail...try and stick to the 100-120mm category.

Would this work on a santa cruz superlight circa 2006

Responded on

A 2006 superlight doesn't have a tapered headtube...looks like backcountry only has this fork in a tapered configuration...it's a no go :(

Will this work for a mongoose teocalli comp 2009?

Responded on

The Current Teocali has a tapered head tube, which would fit this fork, but I am pretty sure that was introduced in 2011, so I don't think this fork will fit your year of bike. Sorry!

Hi there,

Will this work with the Santa Cruz Nickel that was on this site 5 months or so ago? Also, what year is it and is it that much different than the other Fox 140 forks that cost more than double this price for an average rider?

Thanks for any HELP!

I am looking for a 1.125" straight head tube - no taper. The written description for this item suggests it is what I am looking for. The photo for the item and the options description state 1.5T which suggest that it is tapered. Which is it?

Responded on

It is tapered. Don't get it.
