The marriage of two industry, um, Giants.
The good folks at Giant aren't going to put their name on just any piece of junk. That's why they turned to Fox Racing, one of mountain biking's most respected clothing manufacturers, to create Giant's team gear. The Fox Giant Ranger Short, with its removable chamois liner and secure zippered pockets, is a perfect example of what clothing can be when it's made by enthusiasts, and not people who are out to make a quick buck.
Don't let the subtle styling fool you–the Giant Ranger is well-equipped. Quick-dry polyester construction ensures cool, dry comfort, even on all-day epics, and two-way stretch eliminates binding for an unlimited range of motion. The removable liner makes the Ranger as comfortable as spandex tights, but will allow you to fly under the radar. The other benefit of the removable liner is that you can use it with your other shorts or with softshell baggie pants for winter riding.
The Giant Ranger Cargo Short is also loaded with pocket space. One of the large thigh pockets is zippered so you don't lose your keys or whatever else you can't afford to drop. A specialized media pocket with audio interface takes care of your MP3 player, and a large thigh cargo pocket with hook-and-loop flap adds more valuable storage.
Fox Racing Giant Ranger Cargo Shorts come in Charcoal or Black and are available in even sizes 28 through 40.

Favorite Pair of Biking Shorts
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've ridden these shorts for almost two years now and they are hands down the greatest pair of shorts I have ever ridden. The inseam falls above the knee which is great for pedaling. The fabric of the shorts is pretty light and movable but it is definitely durable enough to take many falls. It does come with a chamois that is good not great so if you have another chamois that you like I would keep wearing that one. The only downside of these shorts is that the front pockets are not very deep, they will hold a phone, ipod, keys etc. but you might worry about them falling out. (It's never been an issue for me). All in all, I would recommend these shorts for any and all enduro, all mountain and any XC biker that isn't into the whole spandex thing. If you have any questions about these or any other bike shorts please give me a call!
