Hello, i've been trying to locate a picture of the pit zip for you and have been unsuccessful. I do know what it looks like though, it has an mesh covering to keep snow and other unwanted elements out but still lets the excess heat escape.

They thought of every thing on this jacket.
Removable hood, fur liner, spray skirt, and pockets pockets pockets. All the zippers have flaps. Now I'm the pimpest on the Mt.

The hood does not come off. Like andrew said, it is our Drop Hood, not removable. Awesome Jacket.

Don't know why the 2007 review says it's removable--the BC description says no and the Foursquare website confirmed it. Drop hood that is separate from the collar so when you have it tipped back the collar can still stand up protecting you from wind.
I live-chatted a sales rep since the pictures looked different. Super helpful Zack confirmed hood does not come off the furry version either.
