The '90s called, and they want to get extreme.

Let's be real—these days, skiing is about as hard as a marshmallow. Give your wheelchair-bound grandpa a pair of rockered skis and a shot of bourbon, and he'd be able to shred couloirs like he's the second coming of Plake. Extreme skiing used to mean something, but it's become so saturated with sensible haircuts, toned-down colors, and serious "athletes" that throwing a double daffy is enough to get you classified as a maverick and a winning a Chinese downhill is a surefire way to get your pass clipped. We think it's time to bring back the rebel spirit of the good old days, and kicking your old new-school boards to the curb in favor of the new old-school Folsom Trn Tek 201 Pro Ski is the best place to start.

Yes, the Trn Tek is 201cm long. Yes, it's 72mm underfoot. Yes, it has a 60m turn radius. If you're a real skier, you can handle it. Pushing this burly board through a bump line will make the ends of your mustache curl up and your chest hair grow so thick you won't need a jacket, and jump-turning your way down a couloir will make ladies and gentleman alike rip off their sherbet ski suits and throw their undies at you. The maple core and carbon reinforcement are sturdy and poppy enough to turn double twisters into triples and backslaps into stomps, and the generous camber underfoot gives the Trn Tek more grip than that ski bunny with the surprisingly strong hands. Folsom made one concession to modernity--a gently rockered tip to smooth out choppy snow--and finished the Trn Tek off with graphics that are part Scot Schmidt, part Zack Morris, and part acid flashback, so you can elicit legions of envious ahhs from bell to bell without getting tripped up on things like sidecut, carving, or float.
