What speed limit?

On some days, those super-fat, super-soft powder skis are the ultimate tool for playing in the trees and popping off pillows. On other days, when the snow is big and the terrain is even bigger, you find yourself cursing them and everyone who designed them as you try mob down the steep and deep with any kind of speed. If the low speed limit of those floppy powder skis ends up putting a fun limit on your ski experience, strap on the Folsom Giver Ski and discover just how good it can be on a ski that begs to go as fast as you do.

With a 110 or 114mm waist (depending on length) and a mild tip rocker, the Giver has plenty of girth to float in the deep, but is narrow enough to make quick edge changes and handle hard or variable snow. Where this ski really shines is on steep, high-speed descents in anything from blower pow to variable crud. The 32m turn radius is tailored to big-mountain chargers who are comfortable at very high speeds, while the slight tip rocker and lively poplar and bamboo core keep the ski lively and make it quick to change directions and scrub speed. Give 'er all you've got on the the Folsom Giver, and try not to cry when it gives you a lesson in speed.
